I just bought a Martin on ebay, well I thought was a Martin. I guess I jumped on it a little too fast and it was just pointed out to me that the saddle has an NRS latigo holder, not a martin. I didn't even notice it until blowing up the pictures. It has a silver "martin saddlery" concho on the seat, and seemed to be almost identical to another martin I had wanted. Now I am confused as to what I even got? Thought I was getting a great deal, now I feel a bit duped. I can't seem to find any info on it, I found a few nrs/martin ropers, just no other barrel saddles. Can anyone tell me about this saddle and who actually made it? I called martin but they couldn't really help me without having the serial number.

I'm no help, but hopefully the NRS saddles are well made and you'll be able to get your money back!  They sure seem to have a lot of pride in them!

I looked at the nrs saddles, and they seem to be just as nice. I just wanted the axis tree in particular and now I don't know what this saddle has.

Ohh, I gotcha!

Can you call NRS?  They could probably help.

Probably highly unlikely, but maybe the latigo holder is aftermarket?

Contact NRS.  Can you find a number on it?  That would be helpful when calling them.

I don't even have the saddle yet. I did e-mail nrs. If it fits my horse then its okay because it still looks really nice and I like it. I honestly just was so fast to get it because it was cheap for a martin and I knew I could get my cash right back easy if it didn't fit my horse.

This is the martin I had originally wanted, it was just a 1/2 size smaller than what I was looking for. It has the same tooling and everything, just the seat color and the cantle are different. That one is definitely a Martin.

That is a Martin Iron Horse model. May have been sold by NRS.

This is the saddle that you bought?
If so, this is a Martin that was sold by NRS, they just put their stamp on it so others will see where it came from.
