| I was thrilled that Charmayne pulled the time she did (even if she did tip). For next year's American, who would you like to see as the exemption?
For me, I would have to say Kay Young. She is still a fierce competitor and she did more for Woman's Barrel Racing than most people realize because it was her and Pam Minnick that fought for equal pay at the rodeo's for woman.
I think the Exemption needs to be someone that really left a mark on the industry and helped bring more attention to the sport. What are your thoughts? |

Kristie Peterson might be cool. I like your suggestion of Kay Young too, but I'm not sure how known she still is. Inviting a young gun would be fun too, like a high school or jr high champ, something along those lines.
I was so excited to see Charmayne show she still has IT and what a nice horse Grasshopper is. |

I love that they bring in the legends to compete. They have punched their ticket (IMO) a long time ago. I would love to see Martha Josey compete |

I know she ran at NBHA Youth World a few years back. I don't know about any recent runs though. I feel that she could hop on anything and make a great run though!! |

I couldn't believe the clock when she finsihed... Grasshopper looked like he was loping, so deceptively smooth and fast. When she headed to the first barrel, I thought ..oh no he is not firing, boy was I wrong! |

She bought a horse from a friend of mine a couple years ago to get back into it and has just been letting other people run him (she calls him smash). I was told she had hip surgery and can't ride much anymore. |
