| One of my best friends horses had an injury and the wound was deep enough it was a perfect environment for Tetanus. They caught it fairly quickly and got him to the vet, but he still needs all the help he can get! He is 1D-2D and a beautiful copper color with flaxen mane and tail. He is also my horse's best friend at shows. They go bonkers when they see each other and have to cuddle up! So please, any prayers you could spare would be wonderful! He's responding to treatment, but he still has a major difficult road ahead of him! Thank you! |

He had a booster right after injury, but for some reason, it obviously didn't help. |

My good friend had the same thing happen last year to her stud. I don't know if some horses just don't respond right to the vaccine or what not but he did have a full blown case of tetanus and came through it just fine. I know the odds of that happening are not very high but he spent 2 weeks at the vet in a secluded stall that didn't have much light (they get so light sensitive) and was given the proper meds to treat the infection and tetanus. Looking at him you'd never know he was so close to death a few months ago. I hope your friend has as good of luck with pulling one through this as we did. |

| Oh it's so good to hear a recovery story! When I looked up data online, it said it was about a 20% success rate for recovery. Thank you! |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | Thanks, Rae, for asking for prayers. I have been following Ace's bout with tetanus. He is a very neat horse and his owner is one of the nicest young ladies that I have known since she was a baby. Many in the race horse industry know Levi and her father, Kenny Muntz. This horse is a "gem" and can win in all kinds of arenas, etc......They have him secluded in the dark, watching (via cam) and giving all of the meds, etc. He seems to be getting better but they could sure use the prayers...... |

| Hi all,
I can't thank everyone enough for the amount of support and prayers that Ace is receiving!! I am truly blessed to know how much my boy is loved by all! He is making good progress. He continues to eat and drink and is being very good about all the medication! He is not out of the woods but he is fighting! He is a very spirited horse and has the will to survive! Again I can't thank everyone enough! Every little prayer makes a difference! |

| Ace Update - After night chores - He ate all of his grain and hay from this morning! Drank a little less water today than yesterday but still drinking! Taking his electrolytes and aloe like a champ! Not getting so upset when given the penicillin and got the go ahead to stop the gentamicin! Going to try and go the night with no bute again and hope it goes as well as last night! Everyday that passes his chances go up but he is still not out of the woods! As always just keep praying!! And Thank you all soo much!!!
At 8:19 Ace has ate half a flake of hay, went out to give him another flake to make sure he has enough thru the night. Also, he took a treat from mom and turned around and wanted another!!! I do not underestimate the power of prayer and the fight in that horse!!! Hoping for another peaceful night!
