Ok folks!!! Heres my scoop.... I need to loose 50-70 pounds. I lost 30 then gained 35 back...it happens every time. So obviously i need something to help me so this doesnt happen again. I am now 17 days soda free, watching what i eat such as breads n stuff ( i am not eating like a vegitarian but you get the idea) I work from sun up to sun down so my exercise is kinda squashed. I need a program of some sort to help me. I used to take phentrimine and it helped tremendously but my nutritionist dr moved away, and to top it off I had surgery at the beginning of the year making matters worse as I was on bed rest for almost 2 months. I thought about the jenny craig, or those types of meal plans and stuff but I DO NOT HAVE $500/month extra to spend (that stuff is out of this world!)
Any thoughts or input, or anyone got any info I could use?
Thanks in advance

You can get lots of free info right here or on google.  Taking pop out is a start.  Do the small tips you read about.  Eat on a smaller plate.  Don't buy junk at the store.  Take your lunch.  Try to eat only fresh veggies and fruit.  For lunch do the tuna in a pack, with veggies.  Google healthy snacks.  Drink lots of water.

You can do this, good luck and take small steps to change your eating habits.  It will be a slower process then pills, but it will be a lasting one.

Thanks! Ive really increased my veggies. Drink mostly water. I sneak in a iced tea now and then. But unsweetened.

I just really want to loose it all, my balance is completely gone, which makes for very disappointing barrel races when I ride like a monkey. I went from a 1d rider to a 4d rider b/c I simply have no balance anymore :(  Im miserable, I just want to be me again

Medifast works for the on the go type people.  You should eliminate sugar from your diet as possible, eliminate saturated fats, and 7 oz. lean meat a day.  Sugar, white flour and processed stuff are poison.

Can you get a personal trainer? Cut out all cokes and sweet tea. Load up on veggies and protein. Lots of turkey, chicken, and eggs. Work out 30 minutes a day. You don't need diet pills, it's a lifestyle change. I don't exercise, I train. I don't eat well, I just eat natural foods. You can do this!!

google the paleo diet... it is a life style change... but i have found this to be the easiest "diet" to follow.

pretty much just cuts out the carbs, no calorie counting, and you can eat as much of the good stuff as you want.

for example...when i started this with my boyfriend...
he would eat 5 eggs scrambled, and a huge side of bacon for breakfast...
and then he would eat a half tray of salad and almost a whole rotisserie chicken for lunch!
Steak and veggies for dinner....

I followed the exact same diet plan, just half as much food as him...and he still lost more weight than me.

weight watchers can be a great way to go.  Also, if nothing else, take their principle of tracking your food daily. it can be a real eye opener.  :)

I lost 30 pounds a year ago by eating right.  I didn't cheat one bit and I rode an exercise bike 10 miles a day.  It can be done and it can stay off.  You need to change your eating habits or you'll always gain it back.  There's really no trick to it.  I changed my mind set to - this isn't rocket science.  I know what foods aren't healthy so I'm cutting them out.  I have tons more energy and ride better.  Plus I look haawwwwt!

A diet change will definitely help. Make sure you aren't starving yourself but cut out as much dairy and refined sugars as possible. Through some health reasons I had to cut out a TON of processed foods, dairy, sugary drinks and on top of that I'm a pescatarian (fish as meat only) for other reasons. After losing a ton of weight I've been holding a steady weight finally and stopped fluctuating by 10lbs a week!
Some of those diets use metabolic schemes that trick the body into thinking it's being starved. The problem is, when you "starve" yourself your body is going to keep all of the extra fat it can find to keep you alive because it thinks you're dying.
I've also found my gastro problems have lessened and I feel overall much better. I stick to water and tea everyday for drinks and eat little meals all day long to keep my acid reflux at bay.

30 minutes 3 days a week would be a great start.  I have the time (usually) to do it 7 days a week and that's what I did while losing the weight.  Now to maintain I do it at least 3 days but normally more.  I refused to drive to town to work out and I refused to pay Weight Watchers or something like that mainly because I'm cheap but also because I totally remember the crap food I ate to put the weight on so if I cut out the same crap food it should come off. I always have a few Healthy Choice meals in the freezer in case I need something quick or to take to work with me.  They have very few calories and are a complete meal.  Have hard boiled eggs in the fridge at all times for quick snacks.  Lots of salads but watch the dressing.  I also found a whole grain bread that each slice is only 40 calories so I pair that up with some grilled chicken or turkey slices and I've got a sandwich.

I lost my baby weight by counting calories. For the first 2 months I was very strict. Every time I ate something I would add up the calories and kept the total on a dry erase board on my fridge. You can find a calculator online to figure out how many calories you should be consuming each day to lose weight. After awhile it becomes habit and you'll have a pretty good idea of how many calories are in each meal/snack without having to look it up.

This worked best for me because I didn't have to cut out any foods. If I wanted a candy bar, I'd eat it and just cut the calories out somewhere else. I never felt like I was starving myself or depriving myself something. The weight didn't come off overnight, but remember that you didn't put it on overnight either. You should really only lose about 1-2 pounds per week, depending on how much you have to lose, if you want to keep it off. And this has to be a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix, or you will put the weight back on. Most people recommend staying away from the scale. Personally, I like to weigh every morning so that I know where I stand and if I need to watch my caloric intake or if I have some wiggle room.

I lost about 30lbs and kept it off for almost 2 years doing this.

Be careful not to cut too many calories out of the diet. You will lose the weight at first but often your body goes into a "starvation" mode if you will and when you go to the "maintenance" program you body tends to crave more. I lost 50+ lbs 25 years ago or so and have managed to more or less maintain that but I'm the kind that loves food and I suck at "dieting" so I run. I hate to run but I like to be a fit part of the team between me and my horses, that is what motivated me to make the changes in the first place. My sister is on a mission to lose weight and she has been very good about if it comes from a package she doesn't eat it, no canned foods, no pre-made anything, her meat is the only thing basically with a wrapper on it when she buys it. She has lost about 30 lbs since November!!!!

Jenbabe, you sound like me!!! If I want a candybar or a cookie, I buy God eat that sucker. I just add a few sprints on the treadmill or grab a horse and hand trot them up and down our driveway hill 5X or so to "pay for it" :-)

I say all calories are not created equal. Many argue that I am wrong. Stay away from anything processed, packaged and preserved. Also only eat the leanest of meats.

This! All calories are not created equal! I lost almost 50 pounds by cutting out whites ( sugars, flours, etc) and no processed foods! I did not count calories and ate several times a day. I was never hungry. I would lose 5 or 10 pounds, stay there a couple of weeks, let my body adjust then lose some more. If I wanted to cheat I would go to a bakery and buy one delicious cupcake and enjoy! I did not over do it that way and would do this maybe once or twice a month. I did not bring anything bad into the house. I had the time so I hit the gym 5-7 hours a week. Got hooked on working out and my schedule starts around getting my workout in. Good luck, you can do it!
