| How do you respond when you are doing your best to live for the Lord, yet it seems everything is going against you?
You have examined you life, your heart, your motives and see nothing that would cause this to happen.....but it is! Like Psalmist , do you call out to God and tell Him that you haven't sinned against His commands and that you haven't been acting deceitfully but have been walking in obedience? Do you remind God and yourself that you are aware He would know if you were focused on something besides serving Him?
WOW, this message hit right on the head for me this morning, I have been struggling and praying for things to turn around for me. Sometimes I feel I am in quicksand, right when I get my head above to see , I get knocked back down. The past four years have been very challenging identity theft, broke my hand, crippled horses, sometimes I question my purpose.
In the midst of the questioning Psalm 44:22 acknowledges that suffering is a part of serving God!! But why? Sometimes people say, "We will never know until we get to heaven." I'm not sure we will care in heaven! But back to the "now"
As I am reading this devotional, I am thinking about friends dealing with cancer. Why? we cry. I don't know. But the Word of God is clear. Paul remind us in Romans 8:36 that God still loves us and there is nothing that can separate us from His love!

Psalm 44:13-36 A Plea to the Shepherd
You make us a reproach to our neighbors, and scorn a derision to those all around us. You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples. My dishonor is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me, because of the voice of him who reproached and reviles, because of the enemy and the avenger. All this has come upon us; but we have not forgotten You, nor have we dealt falsely with Your covenant. Our heart has not turned back, nor have our steps departed from Your way; but You have severely broken us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death. If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a foreign god, would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of our heart. Yet for Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. AWAKE! Why do You sleep, O Lord? ARISE! Do not cast us off forever. Why do You hide Your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our body clings to the ground. Arise for our help, and redeem us for Your mercies' sake.

my personal thought; I am serving God, in every way I know how, and the devil feels threatened, that is why I have struggles. every morning before I get up out of bed , I pray Father guide me today to do Your will, in everything I do and say so I can bring glory and Honor to You. AMEN. I KNOW the devil calls 911 and says OH, MY GOD! She is up again!!
I have no doubt that Jesus will meet me at the pearly gate , and lay his hand upon my shoulder and say Sheila you did your best with all I have given you. Job well done my daughter. THANK YOU JESUS PRAISE THE LORD. I AM FREE!!
