Megan’s Memory Scholarship Foundation was created as a lasting legacy in honor of Megan Danielle Stockstill. Megan grew up a cowgirl. Competing in rodeo events as a youngster where she later became a member of the Mississippi High School Rodeo Association. Megan never outgrew her love for rodeo particularly barrel racing. Megan’s Memory will award annual scholarships to rodeo and barrel racing competitors in hopes of helping others achieve their own personal goals.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENT CRITERIA
  • Scholarship award is open to anyone who participates within rodeo or timed event sports. Applicant must be in good standing with a rodeo/barrel racing/ timed events association, organization or club.
  • Applicant must be a high school senior, including home-schooled students and must demonstrate academic merit with a 2.5 current grade point average.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRMENT CRITERIA
  • Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees and books.
  • Scholarship will be paid DIRECT to the accredited college/ university or trade school of choice. In the event applicant terminates enrollment early MMSF will require full reimbursement of the award.
  • Scholarship may be distributed in a one-time donation, periodically or over 4 years until exhausted. It will be responsibility of applicant to notify MMSF of distribution periods.
MATERIAL ATTACHMENTS
  • ESSAY: Provide a cover sheet with your name, address, phone number and email. DO NOT ATTACH YOUR NAME ANYWHERE ON THE ESSAY PAPER. Essay topic in 500 words or less and should describe YOUR definition of a true champion, the course of study or field of interest you plan to pursue and why you want to receive the Megan’s Memory Scholarship.
  • TRANSCRIPTS:  An official high school transcript copy.
  • PROOF OF MEMBERSHIP: Rodeo/ Barrel Racing/ Timed Events proof of membership copy.
  • REFERENCE: (optional) Reference is to complete provided form. Reference may be a teacher or someone in your community. Reference may not be a relative to applicant and must be over 21 years old.
DO NOT STAPLE OR ATTACH THESE DOCUMENTS TOGETHER
DEADLINE: Application MUST be postmarked March 31, 2014- LATE APPLICATIONS NOT ACCEPTED
