Educate me, please! I saw this mentioned on several threads now.

Is this something that could be used instead of buying soft rides?
Would you use this for long distance travel?
I have read that it is difficult to apply?
Is it easy to remove?
Benefits?

Basically, anything and everything. I am always looking to learn something new about products that may be beneficial to my horses.. especially my older gentleman! Thank you!

My mare has white feet and can get tender footed.  I use it on her front feet starting acouple of days prior to a race.  Also like to keep it on while in trailer.  It seems to work well for her.

It is a bit of  pain to apply but do-able.  I wear gloves, put some inside her hoof, put a pad on top, then wrap with vet wrap and duct tape over it.

It's a good product.

Omg, it is SO sticky. You must wear gloves. Oh and don't ever let it get on your horses hair...it won't come off.

My farrier applied it to my mare's feet. It helped her a lot. She had such sore soles she could barely walk.

We had a mare come up extremely lame all of a sudden this winter. We couldn't find what the problem was, so we put soft rides on her and she was a little better. We had our farrier come out and did a hoof test and she was positive, but we couldn't feel heat or could see an abcess maybe forming... 2 weeks in stall rest and soft rides and not a lot of change. We debated about getting xrays, maybe a fractured coffin bone?? but we couldn't get the trailer out due to snow.

I remembered I had magic cushion extreme in my tackroom and I packed both front feet with it and duct taped, then back into soft rides. 2 days later, the change was amazing! She was able to actually walk without too much of a struggle. 1 week later she was completely sound. Farrier came back out and hoof test her and she didn't have any signs of soreness. No abcess ever came, no heat. It was so weird. Finally turned her back out and she has been great since. That magic cushion did something and I will always keep it it my tackroom. Saved me a vet bill.

That's exactly what happened with my mare as well!! Crazy. Once we used the Magic Cushion two days later she was walking fine...no soreness!!

Hmmm, I think I need to read more about it. Sounds like a great product. What's the web site?

it is REALLLY sticky, but if your horse has shoes, try this. Clean foot well, pack with Magic Cushion, then mash a handful of shavings into it. Put the foot down, and let the shavings mash into it. No need to wrap. Mine stays about 3 days. Works great!

It will not draw abscesses out but has been proven to reduce inflammation in the feet. For bruised feet it has done nothing for mine, it was not able to reduce the pain or inflammation in my one horse with contracted heels either.

If you do use it, I put just a bit bigger then quarter sized ball and push it around the frog, I then put a plastic bag then vet wrap it in place.

You do have to wear gloves.

Can you leave it in for a clinic/show weekend?

One of mine has sensitive feet. This might be something I could do to help him at weekend shows.
