Location: North Dakota | I recently bought a horse and the previous owners are unwilling to work with me. He is an 8 year old sorrel gelding. His registered name is colonel Bugs Leo and is on allbreedpedigree. He is out of a sure called Reverend Jonah Black out of Bugs Alive in 75. His dam is Sally Ann Freckles out of Mack Flit out of Flit N Freckles. The only name on his papers is Diane Fox out of Humeston, Iowa. She is the breeder and last owner known. If anyone has any information, please please let me know! |

Location: Kansas | Have you checked with AQHA? Normally I just find who previously owned the horse on AQHA.....then google them LOL......also facebook. That is how I came across my grey mare's previous owners who had pictures of her as a 2 year old :) |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | If you contact AQHA they'll help you get him transferred into your name even if the previous owner didin't give you a signed transfer. Who did you buy him from? Can't you ask them about your horse? |

Location: North Dakota | Thank you all! I have tried AQHA, they gave me an address. I sent a letter a about ten days ago with no reply yet. I can't seem to pull Diane up on the internet anywhere either! So I'm taking the chance and praying that somebody may know her or the horse here on barrel horse world! |

You must know who you bought him from. You have to start from there and work backwards. I bought a gelding that the people had his papers in their posession but never transferred any papers from years prior. I sent my own letters and never got a response. I then went through AQHA and they sent their own letters. When they still didn't get a response they had me send multiple photo's of the horse, the AQHA papers and signed and notorized affidavit, they then sent me my geldings papers in my name. AQHA was very easy to work with. It took time but it can be done. |

Location: North Dakota | Not needing a transfer :) just info on the horse. I picked him up off of a horse trader (unknowingly, whoops). You know how that goes. He will not even tell me where or who he got him from. He told me that he was a finished barrel horse after I bought him. Surprise, surprise, he's not. He told me that the horse struggles riding indoors. Not sure why, and I haven't had the chance to get to an outdoor arena yet, but the horse acts like he's never had a person on his back before when I ride him in the indoor. I'm just trying to figure out what I should be expecting of this horse and if any previous owner could give me additional info on the gelding and why he's so sour of indoors :) |

Location: North Dakota | I bought him from one of the magilke boys here in ND. He refuses to tell me where he got him from (im assuming there's more to the story on this horse than he wants to know about). Either way, I'm having to work from the beginning instead of the ending because I've got a glitch in my system LOL |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | OK its one of those deals. So basically you got took by a trader but that's par for the course most of the time. Take your horse to a good trainer and have them put wet saddle blankets on him. |

Apparently, he sold through this sale (#36) and was consigned by John McPhail (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) who buys and sells a lot of barrel horses. You might try contacting him. He has a FaceBook page.

Location: SW North Dakota | I know the family that you bought him from and they just had a death in the family...it might take them some time before they get back to you. I'm not sure which one you were dealing with, but it was one of the boys that died. |

Location: North Dakota | Thank you guys so much! I have a much better start than what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, i think it was his cousin that I bought him from and was before the death in the family. My prayers go out to them! I did get a response back from him that he didn't know who he bought him from :/ |

Yes......sold as "not finished".........I would message John through his FaceBook. It looks like he posts on it pretty regularly. This must have been a pretty fast turn around on this horse. That sale was just March 8th. |

That sale was just March 8th. and it says experience in barrels at the 4-h level, knows his way around a ranch selling cause hes not a finished horse and needed to cut back on horses, I think. Sounds like to me hes just a green horse needing some work and lots of miles put on him.

Location: North Dakota | It's exactly as we thought lol! I just got off the phone with John, whom I might add was AWESOME to work with! He told me that the horse has had a lot of miles underneath him, but never seen a barrel pattern. Got stabbed by the horse trader again! Oh well. Thanks guys! The guy I got him from told me he had the horse for several months also. Surprising, when the horse sale he bought him from was march 8th and I bought him march 15th! LOL! John is great to work with guys and he's got a lot of prospects and FINISHED (not unfinished finished, but FOR REAL finished horses for sale) and like I said he was awesome to work with and very very honest. |
