Location: Louisiana | Help! Two good friends of mine lost their barn and 7 horses in a fire yesterday, and I want to set up a PayPal account to accept donations for them. Can someone tell me how I can do this and have it separate from my personal PayPal account?? I have emailed PayPal, but who knows how long it will take for them to reply. I know people here have done this before, so please help. Thanks. |

Location: CTX | I would just open a new email account just for this. You can do so pretty easy with yahoo or gmail. Maybe name it 'donations for so-and-so.

| Cannot set up a PayPal acct. It is considered mail fraud and is against the federal law. Check with Martha Reyenga. She was post master for Shreveport. She told me this. When you put it on the internet where the entire universe can read this, you are pretty well turning yourself in. |

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. I know people do it all the time in situations like this. It is a quick and easy way to get help fast to the people who need it. They are going to have to rebuild their barn fast, because they do have other horses who are without a barn now. |

Honeymoney, I don't know who you are, but I just checked with Martha Reyenga, and she said she never said that it is considered mail fraud. I didn't think it could be! Why can't someone just do something to help because their heart tells them to? |

Location: Louisiana | They did not have insurance. You can throw stones all you want, but you don't know their circumstances. I am not at liberty to discuss their personal details. Life sometimes throws us curves, and this follows a very difficult time for them, including illness and inability to work or ride. I would not offer to help, if help was not needed. It is sad that people have so be so suspicious and cold hearted at a time like this.  |

That is just WRONG......PayPal even has instructions on how to set up accounts for fundraising, donations, etc...........
