So after a complete rule out of pain
(via vetting A&M
), teeth, saddle fit, etc, what are your thoughts on horse hanging up on the backside of second and third? This mare is super turny, and I'm wondering if she's just getting into the turn too early... Thoughts on this? I'm afraid I haven't get a video of it yet.
What do you try? Excercises you might recommend to help open the turn up at speed?

She could be turning too soon, or not have enough room going in. I exagerate my pocket sometimes and make sure he's by it far enough to make the turn. If she's turning too soon you can push her all the way into your rate point and counter arc

My thought was starting the turn too soon or not having enough room to keep her momentum going all the way through. also, I used to hang my bay horse up on the backside until I saw a picture and I was pulling on him really badly. Started sliding my hand up his neck halfway through the turn and voila - he quit hanging up.

I've def been guilty of not setting one up and taking them on the backside... that could be another thing to look at in your videos.
