My husband and I lost our house in a tornado last year and are looking at options for rebuilding on a limited budget. Has anyone had a house (not a manufactured or mobile home) moved before? What issues did you run into? What was the cost? What advice would you give someone looking into it or any things you learned?

Location: East Texas		 We had my grandparents house moved and attached to our double wide.  We didn't leave off the property but did move a garage that was secondary.  The mover replaced some of the beams (we bought the supplies)that had been damaged with age and was only $5000. All other bids were $12k to $ $15k.  Its expensive but I'm so glad we did and saved my grandparents home.  A lot of people will give you the home if u pay to have it moved and the older the farm house the better the structure
