| I totally think it can help in certain horses. I have a real solid horse that tends to be lazy. every once in a while I have to breeze him. It really helps him free up. I have breezed young horses that just could not figure out how to run with someone on their backs. Never to much however. |

Location: Savannah, Tennessee | I think it is good to sprint them, or breeze them every so often. Fallon Taylor has a video on youtube about it, that made a lot of sense to me. Certainly don't over do it, but if you expect them to run hard at a barrel race then you should condition them to it. I however think you could blow them up in a hurry if you are doing it too much.

| In my legging up routine, I have a spot I breeze my horses, as you need to build up their wind, and also condition the fast twitch (sp) muscles. |

Seriously?? Although I don't think barrel horses need breezed side by side, that is just a ridiculous statement. How do you think they breeze race horses...alone all the time? |

| Working beside another horse once in awhile certainly is not going to hurt. You can make one an idiot just as easily by themselves. You know for the past 50+ years I have wanted my horses to walk quietly down the alley. Have I been doing this wrong? My horses used to be 1D horses when I could actually ride. I guess they are still 1D horses just not with me on them---laughing. |

Location: North of where I want to be | My gelding likes to run & used it as a way out of slow work in the beginning. Now when he does great on a particularly difficult or long trail ride or after a good amout of slow work ...breezing is his reward.. Kills 2 birds with one stone. |

| Without getting too technical, the trainer works horses to get them fit or keep them fit. Once the trainer gets a horse on a schedule, he wants to keep it. Chances are the trainer is getting them ready for a particular race. Depending on the distance and time between races will dictate how far and fast the horse goes. There are different thoughts on Breezing, depends on the trainer. I’m a trainer who does not like to work the horses fast. I was always taught to leave something in the tank. There are horses born with natural speed and like to work so those are expected to work fast. |
