Treeless saddle seat sizes?

I was reading a saddle ad a bit ago and it was a Circle Y Tammy Fischer treeless saddle. They said in their ad that you are supposed to buy one saddle seat size up
(like if you fit a normal 15 1/2, you buy a 16 1/2
) when you buy treeless. Is that true? I hadn't heard that before. I'm not in the market for a saddle
(treeless or treed
) but if that is so, what is the reasoning behind it? Thanks!

Because the treeless will form/shape to the horses back so this will make the seat a little smaller/tighter, this is what I have found when I used a treeless.

I ride a 14.5 treed and a 15.5 in the Jackie Jatzula saddle. The Circle Y's only come in 13.5, 14.5, 15.5 and 16.5 seat sizes.
I had a Bob Marshall years ago and I rode in the same size as I did in a treed saddle.

I ride comfortably in a 13.5 pozzi and 14.5 tammy fisher treeless . I tried the 13.5 treeless but it was wayyyyyy to tight !

Thanks guys! I've not ever had a treeless, so I was uninformed. If I ever am in the market for one I'll keep that in mind.
