Location: Middle Tennessee | I would really like to start my horses on Platinum Performance but the CJ is too pricey for me to afford to feed to three horses. Is the regular just as good if I supplement it with ActiFlex 4000 because I already give injectable Acetyl-D Glucosamine Chondroitin and will continue to use it no matter what supplement I use. |

Location: My own little world :) | I use platinum for my horses and myself and I love it. If it makes horses feel as good as it makes me feel then it is well worth it. I really encourage you to pencil out the price difference between using the regular with the actiflex vs. the CJ. I figured it out with the regular and tight joints plus vs. the CJ and it was only $3.00 cheaper per horse per month...For me thats not much and the convenience of the CJ was worth more to me.
However, I have also heard that horses cannot absorb the HA and other joint supplements via digestion so really injection is the best way to help with that. But I do know that I have seen a tremendous improvement in my older horses when they are on the CJ...like you wouldn't even know they were the same horse. Good luck and I hope that was helpful :) |

| I use the regular PP and have for years. I love love it and a huge fan. I can see the difference in my horses when they are on it. I have a 18 year old gelding that look 10 and I swear a lot has to do with the platinum. |

| I agree that CJ can be a bit pricey until you see the results - then you'll wonder why you ever thought of a different option.
Just a thought but do some math and figure out what the cost difference really is going to be for your options -
Also, be very careful with what is already in PP and the ActiFlex 4000. Platinum has guaranteed analysis on their products and honestly, you may not need to add the ActiFlex if you're going to continue with injections ...
Just my 2 cents :) Good Luck! |

| I feed the Platinum CJ and then give twice a month Polyglcan. I know the CJ seems pricey, but you don't have to add any other supplements. I would though add the Biotin to your horse with the foot issue. Biotin is fairly cheap. |

| I got tired of mixing all kinds of expensive supplements and switched to Platinum. I do have one horse that has a chip in his knee that gets Platinum CJ. I have found that the Platinum is really cheaper in the long run. |

The best I've ever used is the cj. I won't use anything else. They just feel good on it and their coats are always shiney and nice. I've also heard that the HA in a powder form doesn't absorb as good but I give monthly to weekly HA or adequan shots depending on how much I'm running. Would like to know if it is truly a fact that the HA doesn't absorb? In any case I feel that I'm giving the best supplement all around:) expensive but worth it. |

During hauling and riding season, yes - 2 scoops every day.
During winter/off season - 1 scoop a day ... seems to be doing well on my horses. :) |

That is another great thing about Platinum! It seems like you have to feed very little to see a result. On the bucket I think it tells you the suggested feeding for the different types of work that a horse would be doing but I always start with one scoop a day and then go from there. I just recently bumped my mare up to two scoops..one regular, one CJ because she is going through a gangly growing stage and I'm riding her a lot harder. I think it is the superior product right now ;) |

| If you want to try platinum, call and ask for a week sample of it first. They'll send you whatever kind you're wanting to try. I had full intentions to order it for my horses, but when I got the sample packets my gelding absolutely refused to touch his grain! And he'll eat anything without a fuss. My mare, however, ate it even though she didn't seem all that excited about it. I loved the idea of the product, but unfortunately neither of them really liked it |

Maybe you could try a different flavor?? Mine literally lick their feed tubs. I feed it with a pellet and I don't have to add anything to mix it with. They seem to love it. |

I agree. I got hooked in after winning a bucket at a regional mounted shooting event. I took it home, tried it, and never looked back! It's a great product that you can actually see the benefits unlike some of the other products I have tried over the years. |

Location: Kansas | I am the odd one...I used it and I do only have futurity horses and they were looney and one jumped over a fence and the other after a year of riding perfectly got psycho. I had asked and several people said the same thing happened to them. I bet it is great for an older seasoned horse that needs the energy. This was my experience. Once they were off it everything got back to normal. |

Would you say your horses were on the hotter side to begin with? Or no?
I'm debating putting my horses on it - but one of them is a bit of a knucklehead to begin with, and I sure don't want to encourage it. Lol |

I've also found that with platinum you can phase out different things also. For example, if you put your horses on platinum you wouldn't have to feed grains like omalene or strategy, or things like that. Mine are just on rolled oats and a little bit of wet cob with their platinum and they don't get much. I remember when I Was first introduced to platinum someone said you don't have to feed as much other feeds while they are on it. |

I am also considering trying this! |
