Obedience to God
See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today, and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by following other gods which you have not known. Deuteronomy 11:26-28
And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, I have come to know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk n the same manner as He walked 1 John 2:3-6 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must OBEY God rather than men. Acts 5:29
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the y of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalm 1 has been used throughout time to point the way to a blessed life and to warn impending dangers of divine judgment to the wayward. Blessed speaks of the blissful, happy, joyful life that is controlled not by circumstances but by the inner strength of our Creator. Wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle , willing to yield, full of mercy and god fruits, without hypocrisy. God wants to bless His people and direct them into a life of faithfulness and fruitfulness. Then we can be not only be recipients but channels of God's blessings. God blesses us in order to make us a blessing to others. I call it " Paying it Forward", we do these things in the Name of Jesus, not expecting anything in return.
Blessings are not material things, it is the act of being in a personal relationship with Jesus, and sharing the Word of God with others. AMEN
