Are you going to be using it on the road or at home where you have an available wi-fi network?  If you plan on using it for travel I would go the wi-fi route  since not all places have it.  You can always turn off the data portion if free wi-fi is available.  Other then that I have nothing....

I really like mine! It's the perfect size to be able to stick in my purse and take with me easily. We don't have internet at our house so we have the data plan. It's cheaper than paying for internet every month and easy to use for what I need it to do!

We do have wi-fi at home. Do you think I would need the 16 or 32?

I LOVE my mini.  I take it everywhere and am SO glad the rep convinced me to get the wireless internet.  Not every place has wifi and if they do, sometimes it's password protected.  It's been so handy.  I take it everywhere and it is a lifesaver when I am traveling.  If you think you will it at home, just get wifi but I take mine everywhere.  It's the perfect size for your purse.

I have a 32 GB....with a lot of songs and apps...half I don't use but I don't think I would have gotten by with 16.  Right now I have 5 megabytes left!

I have the latest mini with retina display. I also have the larger iPad 4. I love my little mini. Much more comfortable to hold. I got the 32 gb because I like to keep some books and mags after I read them and my iPad 4 was 16 gb so I thought I had to keep most deleted after I read them so as not to fill it up. I wanted plenty space left to always handle the IOS updates. I am not a movie watcher tho (use my tv for that) so 32 gb could be overkill, IDK.

I got wifi only but my iPhone has mobile hotspot capability. I have not used it but my thinking is that this would save you from paying extra for the iPad with wireless plan.

I hate to ask stupid questions but I know that is what y'all are there for . . . If I get the wireless internet option then I will need to add it to my cell phone service plan?

Not necessarily. They have plans available just for the ipads but you can also just add it (depending on your service provider). I have a regular iPad and a Kindle fire. I love the size of the kindle fire over the ipad though. I'd love to have an ipad mini. Hard to justify when I have the two gadgets above and an iphone though.
