I was just curious if anyone has one or uses one? we looked at them at Ardmore and I really liked all the research, materials, and information we received on them and liked how it felt.....the gentleman was so nice, hes making my mom a custom one higher in frnt and back....I would just like to know if anyone has any opinions, Im honestly thinking of trying one because I like how light they are. thank you very much!!!!!!!!

I saw those at Ardmore. My opinion on the front end is, if you need to lift your leg forward to miss a barrel, or get out of your saddle for some reason, OR if you have a fall or a horse starts bucking and you get rattled around, those bear-trap type swells would be brutal and in the way. He was very nice. I just don't quite agree with his theory. I did see a used one for sale on fb and they were selling because it didn't fit the horse. That's all I know.

I will also say that I've sat in a lot of saddles that I thought I liked until I started making runs in them. Always if you're buying a saddle to win in, make a run in it or one like it if you can. You will be surprised at the difference in fit for both you and the horse.

My first saddle was a bear trap and I hated it for this reason. I always kept bruses on my legs from it.

I just bought one brand new. Not from the dealer, but from a lady who had never used it. It came with the matching breast collar and headstall, and I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It fits my gelding really well and he's one of those hard to fit, skinny in the middle, wide in the shoulder type horses.
He loves it because he can move better in it and its light. I love it because its comfortable, beautiful, and made really well in my opinion. Mine has a 5" cantle, but the swells are normal. No bear trap for me! It still holds me in really well which is nice because my gelding really rates hard and powers out of the barrel hard.
I can't say enough good things about it :) I think with the way they are made and how good they look, you get a really good bang for your buck. When I need a new saddle, I'll definitely be ordering a custom one from them.

The barrel saddle is really light, and it is OK, but I really like the feel of their cutting saddle. It is much more comfortable. Bear trap is definitely not my style. And their pig skin seat is really neat.

thank you for input.....I like the bigger swells...I ride a Shiloh contender right now and i love the swells, especially when you are riding youngsters or ones that can occasionally pitch, lol......I thought the Diamond Cross sit alot like my Shiloh did, but i have not ridden or run in one....i do like that they are alot lighter than my shiloh...Im not a light weight and my horse isnt ver big so I need all the help off the clock we can get! thank you again for all your posts and opinions! very appreciated!

Everyone I know loves theirs.  He is a really nice guy, but he guaranteed it would take .5 seconds off my normal times.  I was skeptical  about this lol!  I wouls run in one first, but like I said, all my friends like them.

I was introduced to the saddles in IN. WR was very nice and spent a lot of time helping my friend out on saddle fit and personal fit. Her saddle showed up and it fit her and her horse to a tee. For the price I think they are a very good saddle. I rode in hers and some that WR had at the show. I liked them very much. I'm going to purchase one soon. You can have some changes to the saddle if you need, they don't seem to be cookie cutter saddles. Also I have heard how good he stands behind them. From my experience there are lot of more expensive saddles and bigger name companies that don't stand behind their saddles as well. I give them a try.

My friend has a 14" one for sale only because she needs a 15" now. She enjoyed hers and purchased the matching headstall and breastcollar. Used for about two years and I heard no complaints from her about hers ever. She enjoyed the bear trap on her harder turning horse. I believe she used hers on about 3 horses. One roly poly, one average and one with a higher wither. They were at holiday classic last weekend selling saddles. The customizing options are very nice for sure.
