Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | My sister manages an apartment complex. A couple days ago they had to evict someone and then yesterday they went thru the apartment and in a closet there was a young dog left in there. Pee and poop. No food or water. The people were gone so my sister took her and gave her to us. She is clearly very young and not potty trained.
Just now my sister calls me to say that the owner of the puppy came in with the police to get her back so now we have to take her back to them :( she said she was put in there while they moved but she was in there at least a couple days!
Apparently I get attached fast |

| :( They should not get her back if they just abandoned her in the closet in the first place! |

Location: ohio-in my own little world with pretty ponies :) | Her boss already told them where she is. My dad offered to pay for her. I mean...they were being evicted so there is most likely a need for mkney but no. They did not document....I don't know why. They just wanted to get her out. I wish they had. She is so silly and happy here. She was so scared and she is a little thin too. |

I agree, turn the puppy over to a rescue group, they will fight it. Is is easier to adopt kids than adopt a pet from some of those groups. |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | Tell em you had to take it to the vet because it became suddenly sick from lack of food and water...they can have it back soon as they pay the vet bill...call a rescue place..they'll " treat" it and have a "bill" for them...my guess is they'll neverask again... |

Location: North MS | I agree- carry it to a vet or rescue and get a bill for them to have to pay. Carry it to a groomer (if you have a friend that grooms) and beg for a discounted yet most expensive grooming job they can do. Don't forget the $45 frontline application and heartworm pills you purchased. Plus the sensitive stomach food from petco/petsmart you had to feed the starving pup because it was gentler on its stomach. Good luck!
Or send it to a friends house- it died! |

| Oh, by the way, there is a pet deposit. You owe for damages and clean up in the apartment since it was not paid. |

THIS is an AWESOME idea - this and the pet deposit and make them pay IN CASH before/if they get the dog. |

I agree with this....call the Humane Society and get them involved. Don't give this puppy back.....I would take it somewhere else and tell them it ran off before they got it back....jerks!!! |

Location: Sperry, OK | How long was it from the day they got evicted until the day they came back looking for the pup? As far as they knew, the pup was still in that closet.... that is what I would tell the officer. They left that pup in there for "X" amount of days before they came back... shouldn't you charge them with animal cruelty? |
