Location: Texas | I live about an hour from Bay City. I live in Wharton. We have races in the area all the time. Check out www.gcbra.net we are in Angleton this weekend. Good arenas within the area are:
wharton county fair grounds (wharton)
Fort Bend County Fair Grounds (rosenberg)
Galveston County Fair Grounds (ground can be iffy but we keep it safe there)
Brazoria County Fair Grounds (Angleton)
Lomax arena (La porte)
Alvin arena- outdoor, deep, don't go there often
Check out CPRArodeo.com they have quite a bit in the area or within a few hours
Most Wrapn3s are within a 2-4 hour drive
Waco is 3 hours from Wharton, so maybe 3-4 h from Bay City.
Bay City has its own PRCA rodeo in march, and there's a decent amount Texas Circuit of rodeos within a 5 hour radius of the area
There's a weekly jackpot series in Sealy at the D&D arena (find on Facebook). they are small jackpots with tough people that show up. It's awesome.
Lester Meier rodeos are fun open rodeos and they pay well www.lmrodeo.com |

Location: Texas | Also forgot Ride Like a Girl productions has races a lot in Wharton and surrounding areas. I don't know the url for that one off the top of my head.
ETA- Wharton is 2 hours from Bryan, TX-- DIAMONDS AND DIRT!! Whoop! So you would be fairly close to that too!

Location: Texas | Yes! I could find somewhere to go all the time. There is also www.stbra.org but I don't go there as often. There's some NBHA districts in the area, but the one that would encompass Bay city is district 34 and it was dissolved a few years ago and I highly doubt it will come back.
ETA- if you are also looking for vet stuff..
Dr. Honnas is about 2-2.5 hours from Wharton (so probably 3.5 for Bay City)
Brazos Valley Equine Hospital (my favorite place ever) is 45 minutes shorter of a drive than Dr. Honnas's place. I love them for repro too.
Granada Farms and TAMU are great for advanced repro as well and are in that area
Bay City has a vet that treats horses. I haven't been there but I have friends that go.
Greg Ford is somewhere in the area
ESMS Houston Field Medicine also goes to Bay City (My personal favorite vet/family friend)
Waller Equine and Katy Equine aren't too much of a stretch
Kimmi Byler's Horse Swim facility is in Bellville, not too far away.

Β That's funny! Ours was 35 and it dissolved again and won't be back either. So glad to hear this area has a lot to go to that closer than my typically 4-6 hr drive |
