Location: Vinton, La. | They are kinda like Almond Joy's and Mounds candy bars. Sometimes they feel like a nut, and sometimes they don't.
I have a yearling colt out of a Smoke N Sparks mare. He's not a bad colt. Had a full sister to my yearling that was meaner and nuttier than heck.
The colts and geldings are better liked down here in Louisiana for race training then the fillies are. |

| I have a mare by First To Shine and out of a daughter of Mr. Jess Perry. Ran for about $24k on the track with a 105 SI. The only time she ever got excited was when I pulled her out of the trailer the first time at my house. There are not many bloodlines you can pull off the track and jump on and take off in to the sage brush and act like they have done it all their life. She jumped at the first rabbit, never even flinched after that. I bought her to breed, and have only had her a few months now. I really wish I had two, one to ride and one to breed.
ETA: that is her in my profile pic.

Location: South Dakota | I've got one that looks like a calf horse and has a calf horse stop. A full brother of hers won about 300,000. She's got a super mind. I like em!!! |

Location: Arkansas | We had one that we really liked. Could go run him, then park him at the fence out of the alley and he would cock up a foot and almost snooze. He was very cowy as well. Hubby used him on the ranch and in a couple of small ranch rodeos. He was making a really nice barrel horse when we sold him. Kind of a clown but easy to get along with. |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | Lmao...thank you guys! My daughter won $15,500 on the track. Is not bad in any way. I have had 3 gorgeous colts from her. I did have her for sale at one time, but it would take the Hope Diamond to buy her now lol. I'm going to get another daughter or 2 at some point. |

I had an own son of Smoke N Sparks and your description was him to a tee. So I wonder if your colts are getting it from the mare side. |

Location: Vinton, La. | Yes and no. She is a hot mare and some of her fillies are also hot. Her colts are the opposite and want to please. I have a Panther Mountain gelding out of her that I sold as a yearling and claimed back last year, who is a complete sweetheart. Kindest, sweetest horse you could ask for.
My experience with First To Shine offspring are race track only. I groomed for 17 years and have been around plenty. Also, the big trainers will tell you the same thing about the fillies. Don't get me wrong, I loved First To Shine or wouldn't have bred to him twice. He was one of the best looking stallion's around up to the day he died.

| FIRST TO SHINE is always an added plus to your broodmares or babies.
Dashin Alabama is out of a daughter of FTS and crossed with my stallion has fantastic conformationed babies that are easy to train .....

With the indepth barrel bloodlines and speed from the Mr Jess Perry and FTS lines these babies should be dynamite barrel smokers ... all 3 of her foals are full brothers and I am breeding her back the same way .. they are that good!! COUGARS SLING SHOT ...

| I have a filly, a yearling, out of a daughter of First to Shine. Ruzsa's :)
She is by FWOTR.
I hope she makes a good cross!
I tell the filly can accelerate from 0 to 90 faster than you can blink your eyes!

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | checkmate - 2014-04-21 8:54 AM Thanks everybody! I'm looking at a couple of different horses, each is by a daughter of First to shine. I was just curious what people thought of them. I have some videos of mine on Facebook (Jennifer LaCombe) if you want to see their personalities and temperment. I love them. The yearling boy I have is my go to horse for everything from teaching others to load, a trailering partner, a paddock companion, etc. He's super smart, dependable and a very quick learner. He, also, has a great personality. I can read him like a book lol. And....I'm not just saying this because he's mine lol. I, also, have the Spawn of Satan, but it's not my First to Shine. The weanling colt is going to be the same. I see the same personality in the baby.
