I've talked with a few BB about my hair falling out and I've tried several different things to try and help it but its only getting worse. I'm desperate to try and get my hair back and I'm looking for suggestions.

I've had my blood taken to make sure everything was good there, my Vitamin D was low but the doctor said that's not uncommon for people who live in cold states. I went to a dermatologist, he literally pulled some of my hair out, looked at it and said, "It should grow back. Come back in 3 months.". Well it hasn't grown back. I've tried switching shampoos, I've stopped putting my hair in pony tails. Ill put it in a loose braid to the side. I very rarely straighten it.

Does anyone have a suggestion of what I can do? I'm 24 and going bald.

That was happening to me. I went to see my doctor and I got some liquid medicine to put on. It is growing back. The bottle is at home and I will post as soon as I can what the medicine is.

My hair was thinning really bad.  Dermatologist said comes with age.  I was 49 at the time.   I started eatting pretty clean, organic and no processed foods.  I have noticed my hair and nails grow fast and I no longer lose hair like I used too.

I have a friend who is losing her hair too. It's not quite as bad as yours but it's getting there. The docs said she's losing triple of what a person normally loses daily. Anyway, they told her it was because of the stress of nursing school. They told her it will only get better when she's done with school. Are you under a lot of stress?

Stress is a HUGE factor with hair loss.  I started using Nioxin & it has helped some.  I would go to another derm & see if they can do more for you.

Yes I'm under stress buts its not stress that will go away.

Hey girl - I'm 30 and had this problem last summer. Did the same thing with my drs - ran blood panels, even went to the endocrinologist for panels for testing my hormones among other things. I was loosing HANDFULS of hair in the shower daily and my SO and I joked that I shed more than our two dogs!

Do the hormone test for sure. If that comes back normal - and you can't change your stress level - 1) change your diet - seriously clean it up, see a specialist to help you if you don't know or aren't sure of what to do or eat. Diet is a huge factor as we gals get older ...

2) Get on some pre-natal vitamins. For real. They have high folic acid and biotin which are the two important things for women trying to grow hair. My lady doc (OB-GYN) told me to do this and I'm finally seeing results after 6 months. My skin, hair, and nails are growing and coming back really nicely. I just use the Kroger brand ones and for 45 days, its like 8$. Seriously, we spend more than that on our furry friends!!

The other thing to look at is genetics. (I know this sucks) But, if your mother's father was bald ... chance are you are going to inherit those genetics. However, at 24 you probably shouldn't be seeing genetic issues yet ...

Good Luck!!

I already take prenatal vitamins. My diet is pretty good, I don't eat fast food or drink pop. My mother's father died at 85 and from what I remember he did have hair but not a lot. I will check in to talking to someone about eating even healthier and getting my hormones checked.

When I was under stress that was not going away my hair dresser turned me onto Aveda.  Been using it now for over 25 years, it saved my hair.  My niece was going through what you are, I told her about Aveda, she also got great results.

I use nothing but their hair products so both conditioners and shampoo and hair spray.  I would recommend you find a salon who sells the product and get one on one help. If you can't find one in your area, they do have a website, might have someone via a phone that might help.

Hey Whiteboy, I do not profit by sharing what helped me and my head of hair, but I sure as he ll believe in it so I talk about it.

I would try some meditation- even just spending some quiet time for yourself out with the horses would help. It may or may not help your hair, but I bet it would certainly help you relax a little bit.
I know you have a lot on your plate right now. If you ever want to chat, hit me up

Vitamin D.....I was like you and the Dr. told me STRESS and lack of vit.D will do it.  I am taking 50,000 units of D once a week and in 2 weeks have seen lots of improvement.  I also am learning to say no and screw it at the same time and it definately has helped with the stress..mine is my job, can't afford to loose it but don't want it to kill me either.  Good luck
