Okay so I have a horse and he is really stubborn when it comes to having a bit in his mouth. I put in a simple snaffle and that is all he ever cares about is blowing through it or constantly pushing on it. I put a side pull on him with nothing in his mouth and he is a dream. I have ran him with the side pull on the barrel pattern and was wondering during a show do you need a bit in their mouth to run?

No, there's no rule anywhere that says you have to have a bit. Sidepull away!!
