Mine has said go before. and honestly I have realized he genuinely wants me to go. He was saying something about he likes seeing the "post barrel race smile" he said it makes him feel good... Believe it or not some guys have good intentions ;) |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I never take my husband. He used to be fun before we were married, now all he does is gripe "what did all those buckets cost, what is the entry fee, what is lunch going to cost, what did that saddle pad cost, did you check the oil...what did that cost?" LOL, you get the idea. Fun doesn't come cheap |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | LOL.....for many years I hauled up and down the road to rodeos and jackpots by myself. I even hauled kids to the NHSRA Finals in South Dakota by myself. We owned our own saddle shop and he couldn't get away.......One time, when he did go with me, someone asked my friend "who is that guy?" |

| I travel with my mom. Neither my dad, nor my hubby, think barrel racing is any fun, so they stay home. We usually don't miss them too badly, because when they do deem it necessary to show up, they aren't exactly overjoyed to be there. |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | You know, secretly, he probably would rather work than go to a barrel race with you lol. Not that he doesn't want to be with you, just that it would torture him sitting there when he could be making a few bucks working. That's like taking a dude shopping. |

| My hubb goes to one or two shows a year with me. One time he went overnight with me, but generally he only goes to close day shows. I can't imagine a non-barrel racer enjoying 12+ hours of watching barrel runs! He is always invited but never pressured to go. Generally he does 'Man Days' with his man friends when I go to shows so it all works out well. |

| Well.... I pack him a BIG cooler and he walks around all day meeting new people drinking beer and socializing!!! and he grills out and will grill enough food to feed the whole place and passes it around! I dont make him do any of the work i take care of all that and try to make it a vacation for him!
Sadly this work he wont get paid for lol!!! it is all for family and free labor of course!! all their lists will get complete and ours at home will become longer!
Maybe i just need to sit down and ask him if he honestly dont want to go if not... i will leave him behind... |

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | I do when I have to, but rarely. I enjoy my husband going along just as much as he enjoys it.
At first he started as my fan club. Now he's my "manager". He helps me get ready, stay organized, reminds me of all the things I forget, keeps my horses calm for me (all my horses are quieter when he's standing next to him because they are so used to him now). He carries water buckets, video tapes, has learned enough to tell me what I'm doing wrong, can pick out soreness issues now, see equipment failures, stuff that needs fixed. He can also warm up horses for me if need be.
Now he's active duty Army, and an AIT Platoon SGT at that (anybody familiar with that position knows he's usually working 7 days a week) so many times now he can't go. I will be the first to admit that though I won't stay home because he can't go, I will sometimes only take one horse instead of two because it's easier on me. Sometimes I take him for granted and don't realize how much he helps until he's not there. I never ask him to help, he enjoys it because it makes him a part of it. |
