| I realize this has been gone over and over again regarding saddle fit. Currently I ride her in a 7in reg tree Cactus and it is pinching her, she has practically no withers (not fat just flat backed). I have come to the conclusion she needs a saddle with flat bars. My issue, finding something that fits the bill used (looking to buy sooner then later) I have looked into Slone and their #3 tree but they told me it would be over a 6mo wait to get one built. I am looking for recommendations for different saddles, where to look for used ones and also if anyone knows a smaller saddle maker that makes good saddles?
Thank you! |

The diamond s still sloan but not as good of quality has an 8 week wait.
Martin get one fitted takes 3 months.

Try a Charmayne James she has some to fit wide horses

Location: Riding Crackhead. | What Cactus did you try? I have 2 of the Charmayne Cactus saddles and they fit my flat backed horses real nice. I love the flair to those saddles! IMO the new Reinsman CJ's aren't the same quality as the Cactus. I looked at the Reinsman's in Lincoln and I wasn't impressed with the quality of leather. |

Try a CJ. They are built wider with more flair than the regular Cactus. See if you can find one to borrow. Where are you located? |

It should be done the end of September/beginning of October - which is PERFECT because that's right about when I'll be able to start riding again after my csection, and my horse will come home from the trainer's all ready to go!! Sending him off during my pregnancy was the best decision EVER. I won't have to drag his fat butt (as fat as it gets anyways, which is not very) and spend months legging him up. I'll just throw my new saddle on him and head to a race!! Weeee!!!
My husband says it is my "push present". I had never heard of this before, but I'm not going to argue with a Caldwell. |

| I had a really flat backed mare and used a CJ Recordbreaker on her. Fit her great! It's actually for sale if you're interested. |

Location: Winging It in KY | I have a 15" custom made Carl Ammerman saddle for sale. I had it special made for my flat backed horse. It is built on a TR60 roping tree but is a barrel saddle. If you want to know more about it or see some pics let me know. |
