Location: In The Land of Cotton | That was a good read. Unfortuantely, so many, no matter what color don't realize the freedoms we have here in America, and those that didn't but worked hard to get them in the past 71 short years. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | THAT was a good read. And a good reminder that judging a book by it's cover, and making assumptions about a person is incredibly foolish. Far too many folks sit back and whine claiming they are "underprivledged"...when what a lot of them really are is lazy. They want it handed to them BECAUSE they are of a certain race or "protected class".
Bull crap. I came from a paycheck to paycheck, one wage earner, living in a rented trailer home family. My dad taught me to work hard in school and in life. I got through college on scholarships and working 3 part time jobs simultaneously. I was the first in my family to get that level of education. I am now "privledged" to have a degree, a good life, a great job, and a beautiful home in the country.
This guy did his homework. And his words show he values what he has earned...what his family went through just to survive. Good for him. I'm offended for him at the arrogance and yes racism that some have shown by throwing his "privledge" in his face. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | The comments degenerated quickly...LOL. That was definitely worth reading. As a white girl living where whites are a minority, I see and hear anti-white crap all the time and have even been physically attacked twice for my skin color. White privilege my ass. I know where my mama came from, and I know the sacrifices my grandparents made to survive the depression and to make a go of farming in the years to follow.
There are so many special programs and affirmative action decisions, it's probably easier for minority folks to pull themselves out of a ****-hole life than a white person, if they're willing to work for it. I know many who have--all the black folks I went to school with who I considered friends have done well for themselves. Some of the guys we employ on the farm want to blame the white man for their problems, but it's pretty obvious why they are where they are...and it ain't nothing to do with the color of their skin. |

And as to the highlighted text............. The sad part is these people are simply too blind and either stupid or ignorant to see or understand this. |

| STUPID WHITE PEOPLE invented all the special programs given to minorities instead of making laws for all Americans to share and partake of if they desire.
When given things they place no inherent value on it as those do that worked hard to accomplish the same things. It always ends up with more is never enough ...
Time to backup and change from special treatment to just EQUAL TREAMENT OF ALL AMERICANS ... |
