My last post was about find I moldy feed in the bottom of my bag of Purina omolene 200. I now want to switch after research of people finding the same in different bags from Purina. Since this bag my mare has been wheezing the part few days and gets out of breath easy.

What do you feed your horse?
I've heard of F1 formula and heard a lot of good things about it

Triple crown feed

Platinum performance feed

What are other out there you suggest?

Triple Crown Complete or Senior. High fat, high fiber, lower starch.

Nutrena's new ProForce line looks good, if you can get it.

Seminole has some good options.

I use Purina Omolene 500 on one and Nutrena Safechoice Sr on the other horse I'm running.  I buy oats in bulk for the rest of my horses.  Someone on your last thread told you Purina was crap.  I don't agree.  My mare looks great and feels great.

I highly recommend Renew Gold. Low starch, high fat and it's not technically a "grain." So it won't ferment in your horses' hind gut like Omolene does.

I wish that was sold closer to me.  Its a pain to drive over 100 miles to buy it.

You can get a pallet of Woodys, they are really good to work with, and the freight charges were reasonable...I split a pallet with a neighbour.
At the time I was feeding Omolene 500 as well, and I thought that they were very comparable to each other...I liked the Woodys, but not enough to warrant getting another pallet delivered...and my neighbour felt the same..Omolene 500 is so available and handy...right now I am lovin the whole oats and Forco...

They will deliver it right to you if you've got a pallet fork to unload it.  The freight's not terrible on it either, I bet you'd pay less for freight than I do since you are farther north than I am.  I order Summer Heat and Cool Fuel 25 by the pallet right from Woodys and they drop it off right here.

Ditto.  Though I am LOVING their senior therapy feed and have two horses on it.  HIgh fat, low starch.  It's awesome.

I agree being further North, your freight would be very reasonable...and they are great folks to do business with!!

I have a bunch of 500 to feed up but I should get some from Dave to see how Crack does on it before I do a pallet.  If I had someone close to share with would be ideal since I'd probably only feed it to one horse.  I think I'll give them a call to see what freight would be.  Thanks ladies!

I'll "third" bluebonnet Omega Force. Great feed! What I like about it most is that the feeding rate is 4 to 8 pounds. I've never had to feed more than 4lbs to keep my horses, mostly colts, in condition. Plus, at the mere rate of 4lbs I know that I am getting all the vitamins and minerals my horses need. Compare that to most feed labels which recommend feeding anywhere from .75 to 1.50 lbs of feed per 100lbs of body weight. That means for a 1,000 lb horse I would have to feed 7.5lbs of feed to get the vitamins and minerals my horses need! If I didn't feed that amount I would need to supplement separately to ensure my horses nutrition. So while the cost per bag may be more than other feeds available to me, I'm saving money because I'm not having to feed as much and/or buy additional supplements. The added bonus is the 12% fat makes my horses glow

All of mine are on 4lbs PER DAY. even the rescue. They all look amazing on it. Love the omega force. Always fresh and very clean great smelling grain. I give $22 for it . But its well worth it imo.

I feed Nutrena Safechoice, but have in the past fed Woodys. Both feeds are great feed in my opinion:
