Location: Kansas and loving it | I miss the days when it was all about the horses. I could give a sh#t! Less about fashion.I miss profiles of where the horses are now. Plus Eddie Delahoussey won back to back derbies. 82 Gato Del Dol, 83 Sunnys Halo. |

Plus Johnny pick CC to win due to his shinny coat. lol

Location: Texarkana | that was totally ridiculous... Its a freaking horse race, not a freak show. Be who you want, but for real NBC.... How about lets focus on the topic, and history... not the idiot that knows nothing.. total mockery |

Common Sense and then some
Location: So. California | I really liked Tara and Johhny during the Olympics, it added insight and fun. It was a hoot at times! I didn't watch much of the Derby pre-show, just snippets here and there, missed the backstory piece :-( Nothing I watched was over the top. Again, I could have easily missed what others found "offensive" or not to their liking.
What I do find offensive is name calling. There are better ways to express ourselves, IMHO. |

I don't think it has anything to do with age. Its about class. The Derby is a classy event. This was all in bad taste. WTH do these ice skaters know about horse racing? It was a waste of air time. I don't care if he's gay, its about the presentation. After the Derby was over I found a Will & Grace marathon. I sat watching that tonight laughing my butt off. Johnny Weir might be funny on W & G, hell he'd fit right in!, but not the Kentucky Derby. |

My comment was in no way directed towards you. The post has been removed.
If the commentary was that bad, then it was just bad commentary. NBC has done that in the past, hired individuals to do "spots" and it was awkward, not the right fit at all for the event... I wouldn't care to listen to a roper talk about tennis for example, doesn't make much sense. Two completely different sports.
Sometimes, you just have to wonder who makes these decisions... |
