Location: 31 lengths farms | She is going in tomorrow early AM for Laser Lithrotripsy (sp) for her bladder stone. This is the little mare that came back from a fractured patella in February of 2011, ran into a tractor blade, sound and running, then January of 2013 she was attacked by a mountain lion, fought for her life and came thru it. I have no doubt this little mare has the will and guts to come thru this, she's proved it many times already.

And yes, her mouth is always moving, and usually so are her feet.... |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Things did not go as planned, did an tea sound on her kidneys, right kidney is clean, left kidney had stones as well as the bladder. Shockwave doesn't reach deep enough in horses kidneys, I cannot afford a kidney surgery to have them removed. The laser lithotripsy on the one near her uretor, which leads from the kidney to the bladder would take several attempts over a month at @5k each day if they could even reach it.
Basically was told we had no options.
Having said that I'm not giving up, I am researching herbs and holistic treatments, after a 4 hour trip and 3 hours of ultrasounds via mostly her rectum , we got home and I turned her out in the pasture and she went tearing acrossed it like she always has. My fiancΓ© who constantly tells me "they are animals, you have to be use common sense in your decisions " broke down in tears and said "let's find an alternative.
So here CC and I go, off on another journey others say is impossible, but she beat a fractured patella to run me across the grass at Pendleton and fought off a mountain lion. She is all gut and grit and I will do my darnedest for her until her eye says differently. |

| I would speak with a nutritionist to see what could have caused the stones, calcium, or protein, etc then I would see if I could adjust her feed to compensate.
Google Riva's Remedy, it is a canadian company, send an email to the lady, sorry I can't think of her name right now, or call if there is a phone no. She has done a lot of research on horses, nutrition, and how/which herbs can help or hinder a horse. I have went to a few of her lectures, and I know she would be happy to help you. |
