Do the seat sizes run true? Or do they run a little tight or big? Also, does anyone have the maxed out and what is your horse built like?

It depends on the ground seat...the higher the ground seat, the more shrunk up your seat feels. I like the high rise, so I get 1/4-1/2" bigger than I would normally ride. I had a Maxxed out for a HUGE gelding I had. He was every bit of 16.3hh and just everything about him was big. Originally I had him in a ProMax, but after I got to riding him and he startes to muscle up, I needed the bigger tree. He was all race bred, but didn't have a big wither and was fairly round backed.

Yep^^ depends on the ground seat. They usually run pretty true to size unless they have the high ground seat and then I would go a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch bigger. My friend rides with the maxed out. Her horse is massive. He's well over 16 hands and built like a tank. He has huge shoulders with heavily muscled rounded withers and back. The maxed out fits him like a glove.

I normally ride in a 14 or 14.5 in other saddles, but went with a 13.75 in the Caldwell. It's my first Caldwell and it's not here yet so beyond that comparison, I can't help. Really looking forward to getting it though. Should be another month or so.

I ride in a 14 caldwell maxed out. I have a 4 year old mare who's shoulder is very straight up and down. She looks like a race horse in the front and reining in the back. I am on my 4th tree from caldwell trying to fit this mare. Sharon advised i should ride in a maxed out so that i can get the saddle up far enough on the mare. I started out with the rocket & pro rocket line thinking she needed more twist in the tree. However, those trees had too much twist so we went to the maxed out tree. It has been very hard to get her saddle fit figured out. As for the seat i do not build mine up in the front. I like to have a little room in the seat.

Im confused on their seat size as well! I ride in a 14.5 or 15" in double J saddles and I had a talmadge green tree caldwell I felt great in a 13.75!! I sold it since my mare filled out, and I don't know what to get in a seat size in like a pro racer model. I couldn't believe I could fit in that small of a seat

That was because of the thigh cut out swells.  It can shrink you in seat sizes 1/2 to 3/4"   Pro racer you need to go up 1/2 to 3/4"
