Hello everyone. So I was looking into Liability insurance now that we have our horses at our own place. How much does everyone have? I checked and since we are renters it is not covered under our renters policy. So I can get personal equine liability for in case they were out in the road and god forbid got hit
I know that you can literally insure yourself to death but i feel that is something I need I am just wondering how much coverage other people have on it?

I have a State Farm renters policy. It has a $1,000,000 liability that covers any issues with the horses.

See I have state farm for my renters as well and I called my agent to talk to her today and she told me that my liability would cover for example " if a person fell down my stairs and broke a leg" but if my horse kicked them that could charged differently and she recommended that I had one separately for the horses even if it wasn't through them. So I am just looking at a policy that I get my equine insurance through. Her words were "liability can get dicey when there are animals involved"

Your State Farm agent is correct. Alot depends on what state you reside in. I would think that a personal liability policy would cover your horses as long as it is personal use only. Once you get into training or making money then it would become an additional business pursuit which would be excluded by a personal liabilty policy.
