Location: My own little world :) | So all of you mothers that ride....is it just me or do some of you slightly wet yourselves while riding? I'm fine if I'm walking or trotting or loping easy circles. But if I go to run the pattern or make really tight turns.... mama leaks a little bit :( Its so embarrassing. I had my first child about a year ago and I am slowly working on getting back in shape. I don't have a problem in any other activity. I try to run a few times a week and I have no troubles while running just riding at faster paces and higher intensity. So my question is am I doomed to sporting depends the rest of my riding career or is there something else I can do and am I the only one?? |

I pee when I sneeze, I pee when I post, I pee when I laugh, I pee when I cough, I pee when my current bun in the oven kicks too hard. Lol I pee a lot.
Part of my issue is that after my c-section with my son, I had some nerve issues with my bladder. I literally could not feel the urge to pee. I had to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to go because I never got the "I have to pee" feeling. It took like six months for the sensation to come back to "normal", but even now I can go a LONG time before feeling like I need to go. Doctor says by unintentionally holding it for SO LONG, that I may have weakened it further than usual - hence the peeing :) it isn't a lot of pee, but it is enough to be annoying. It was recommended to me to try Kegel exercises - and I have actually noticed a difference in the amount of accidental peeing. |

I just use the super thin panty liners, not even full blown pads - and it works fine for me. The only problem I have found is that (sorry for the gore) urine isn't as viscous as blood, and if the pad has that weird waxy coating on it, the urine doesn't always soak in very fast - if there's more than just a trickle. I forget what brand it was that I had this experience with... It actually pooled on the liner and then leaked off to the side and got the leg of my jeans wet :( |

My only suggestion, is don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about it! I know one lady was able to take some medicine to help with hers but I think she had another condition too. |

Location: Pacific Northwest | That's a very common issue. I don't have kids but one time while at an open riding a large group of ladies were discussing how they pee every time their horse leaves a barrel. It happens, sometimes those muscles just aren't the same after having kids. |

| Oh honey, you are definitely not alone. You can always tell if a women has had a child, we cross our legs when we laugh, cough, sneeze, watching scary movies, we don't jump on trampolines, do kart wheels, jumping jacks, or jump rope. I've heard it takes a women's body almost seven years to fully return to normal after Child birth. Not sure if that's true but I'm getting close to my seven year mark, I sure hope they're right!!! |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I tried a horse for a week that something about how he moved did that to me. I was kind of relieved when the owner and I couldn't agree on a price and he went back home. LOL Other than that, too much action in the bedroom will cause me to have issues for a couple of days... Kegels help, but they're not a cure all. |

Location: MT | You most certainly are not alone.... I have had 3 kids and it wasn't a big problem after the first two, but the third one has made it a problem. My kids want me to jump on the trampoline, but I can't. I can't sneeze, I can't laugh or cough hard. I can't run. I most certainly have trouble when coming off a barrel. I haven't found anything that REALLY helps. I am considering going in and having the mesh implant. I know there can be a lot of negative issues associated with that as well. However, I do have some close friends who have had it done, they no longer have leaking issues, and are super happy they had the procedure done. |

My mom had the mesh implant and has had no issues and the problem is gone. Just do your research and get a good surgeon. |

| The over active bladder is horrible! No exercise will help, it's a nerve thing. Pills help, but it's not a cure all. Talk to your doctor, they may be able to help. Always infinity active work great for the barrel runs. |

YES!! My MIL is a certified incontinence trainer, meaning as a nurse, she re-teaches people how to control their muscles to help with incontinence. One of the main things she teaches is Kagel exercises! Easiest way to explain it is getting yourself to stop peeing mid-stream. Then you know what muscles to control and can clench them at will. As they grow stronger, incontinence lessens and can completely stop. |

Yep. Baby #4 will be here in august. I only have that issue while pregnant and maybe two months afterward. I'm not special, it's kegels that save me. General exercise helps, too. Running and riding in particular work on abdominal support muscles if done right, and kegels will straighten it out. |

No issues and cured the problem totally. Only regret was I didn't do it sooner. It's called tvt procedure I think. You don't have too suffer. Was day surgery and no pain. Didn't even need a Tylenol. No strenuous activity or lifting for 6 weeks. I made sure I had mine in winter so I didn't miss riding season. I highly recommend it for anyone dealing with his.
