Just curious there are so many different kinds of cinches these days which one do you use and why?  I have a mohair on my rope saddle that I like because of the jerk when roping I think they are the most secure and comfortable for roping but on my barrel saddles I am trying the new Cool Weaver cinch with airflow.  No opinion yet.

Β Classic Equine's Alpaca Cinch -- roper style. It's ridiculously soft, does a nice distribution of the pressure... and I love the chocolate brown color as it matches my (5star) pads. Love it and I'd replace it immediately if something was to happen to it.

I use a smart cinch. Neoprene in the spring for hair issues and felt the rest of the time.

Does anyone use merino wool cinches? I just ordered a pro choice one. I had been told the roper style in the merino wool was awesome but it appears its not longer sold with merino wool.

Shearling wool ones! Why- I watched a few youtube videos covering the pendleton races and noticed all the pro's (or most of them) had wool covered cinches. They ride more than me and care for their horses obviously. Good enough for them is good enough for me.

I think my next cinch will be a wool one.

But it right now I use a neoprene conch from Pro Orthopedic. But it's not like most neoprene--it feels like a wersuit; it's really soft and doesn't pull or tug at all.  I like it because I don't have to cinch up very tight.

I want to like mohair conches but they stretch so much and seem to make my saddle slide around.  Plus my horse doesn't seem to like them that much.

Len Brown's never tight cinch. I bought it because i was having trouble with every saddle rolling on my mare. Even with the new saddle that fits so much better, i still use it. My saddle doesn't move and the girth really isn't very tight at all. My horse can breathe and move so much better with it.

I also like the PC shearling cinch.

My horse got galls from a neoprene one, and did not really care for string cinches (of any flavor).

I learned the hard way.  Years ago I used neoprene.  I couldn't figure out why my mare kept trying to bite me or whoever was closest while I was cinching her up.  I bought new saddles, new pads, chiro and massage therapy treatments.  Spent literally thousands of dollars and it ended up all I needed to do was change a $70 cinch.  Ooops.

I use a ProChoice Merino wool cinch. They are so soft...I love how they feel, so hopefully my horse feels the same way.

I use the PC Shearling as well and love it! I have always used a mohair and finally decided to try the shearling. My gelding has major scars in his girth and along his belly from getting in the fence when he was young. The don't seem to bother him any more after I changed cinches. They are still breathable and you don't have to crank it tight like some.
