| Today's Psalm 53,1-6 and its almost identical companion , Psalm 14, open with a bold statement; when there is no acknowledgment of God, corruption and injustice spread. As a result , there is less and less good in the land v 3 Every one of them has turned aside; they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no not one. and wicked people eat up others like bread v 4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?
The Bible does not set out to prove God exists. He is simply announced, "In the beginning God......" in the first chapter of Genesis. And thus the Bible begins. Yet today a growing number claim atheism. This is an arrogant ideology. For a person to disclaim God's existence implies he would know everything ,and thus he is god. I am reminded of a little boy approached by a man carrying a big red apple. " I will give you this if you tell me where God is, " said the man. " I will give you a basketful if you show me where He ain't, " replied the wise young boy.
Psalm 19:1 tells us the heavens declare the glory of God. It is in the creation we find the fingerprint of the Creator. Werner von Braun, the father of space science, said, " The vast mysteries of the universe should only confirm our belief in the certainty of its Creator. I find it as difficult to understand a scientist who does not acknowledge the presence of a superior rationality behind the existence of the universe as it is to comprehend a theologian who would deny the advances of science. Friend, do not be foolish!
