Back bumps

my 13 year old bay gelding is BAD to get out and need adjusting... yesterday I noticed a few bumps on his spine toward the croup... around the end of my saddle... he doesn't seem to be soar, but they are hard knots, almost like his vertebras are not lines up or out... im having the chiro down in a few weeks but chose to not ride him till I knew more about what it was... any ideas what could be the culprit? could it be my saddle? I Use a 3/4 CSI pad...
My daddy,
(not a small man
) has also started running him for fun at the saddle club show, in my saddle,
(which obviously doesn't fit him
) could that have something to do with it?

I have had one with a hunters bump as well. It is toward the croup-sounds like exactly what you described.
