| What is everyone's opinions on the best truck to haul with is ? For long rodeo hauls , every weekend. Diesel , gas ? Dodge , ford , Chevy ? Every diesel I get , we seem to have nothing but trouble with .. It's getting kind of old sitting on the side of the highway at 2 am with your horses . We currently have a dodge ram 2500 cummins .. Love the truck .. But it's broke down twice on 3 months , leaving us stranded 2 hrs away from home . Everyone tell me what works for you ! |

Location: OK | I have a Dodge 3500 Cummins. Dodges get better fuel mileage from what I've found (diesels only. I never drive gas trucks). I only drive a standard. I hate automatics for fuel mileage reasons. I will say that my older Dodge gets better fuel mileage than our 2013, but it's an automatic. With the newer trucks, mileage may be a toss up, I'm not sure. The one thing I can say is that my Dodge will get stuck on wet grass. It's only made to pull down the highway, but every rodeo you go to has a tractor somewhere, so I never worry about it. |

Freightliner if you want a truck. Chevy if you want a pickup.
Shoot my best friend had a freight liner and that sucker left us sitting on the road more times than I can count and she bought it brand new! Complete POS. My I have had 5 dodges over the last 20 yrs and none have left me sitting on the side of the road

| Lol.. I'm going to take it as I just have bad luck !! :( the first time it broke down , 3 injectors went out .. This time , I'm not for sure.. As it was towed to a shop last night .. But I believe a fuel line or something broke .. Fuel was everywhere.. When it happened , it went fast .. A couple surges & it was dead .. On the side of the high way we were . Soo idk if its a lemon or it's my luck ! I try to give the truck the benefit of the doubt but I'm not sure I can do this a third time.. |

Location: siberia it seems | Would not touch a dodge again for nothing. Had two and they were both junk. They were both brand new when we got them, the first one, the engine went out at 54,000 and had to be replaced and still was never good. Second truck, the front end went out and left me stranded at 52,000 and again at 56,000. Got rid of them and got a chevy and never looked back. Have a chevy 2500 and now a GMC 3500 and love, love them. These two trucks do nothing but haul a trailer and work and have been super reliable, my husband now uses the chevy 2500 for his ranch truck with close to 200,000 and i would have zero issues using it right now to haul somewhere. |

We have over 210,000 miles on our 2010 Dodge 3500 (first time we have ever owned an automatic in a pickup). LOVE it! Gets good mileage when hauling, tons of power, not a single breakdown. No frills just reliable. |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | Check under the hood weekly, no matter what you drive change the oil often make sure the battery cable are clean and check all wires. If it ain't running right take it in. If it make a sound that you not used to take it in. Check often then you won't be left on the side of the road. I go with the brand with the name vehicles were created...Ford |

| we have a 2010 dodge 3500 dually. Its automatic.. We love it.. Had problems with the battery a couple of times but thats it.... Pulls great we have a 4 horse with 16' shortwall dream coach and they are pretty heavy... going 70 with a full load it will get about 9 to the gallon.. But we have pulled it with a chevy and ford as well and they did about the same it is just super heavy... Ours has never gotten stuck and accelarates fairly quickly for what it is pulling.... I love mine! |

Location: London Ontario | We have an 01 GMC 2500 Duramax, wont own another truck. It has 370,000 and is still trucking, we have it chipped, better lift pump, etc. etc. Have to put a new fuel pressure regulator in it, but the hubby is a mechanic so a little bird told me I will be getting it done for pretty cheap hehe. Injectors were done before we bought it, we are currently doing the body on it, All I can say is no matter the truck there will be problems, but it sure helps when you have a good mechanic, or in my case marry one..... |
