Has anyone ever made homemade fly repellant using essential oils? I bought some citronella essential oil and wondered if I could find a recipe or hear testimonials. Thanks.

I'm interested to hear testimonials myself. The only thing that keeps flies off my horses is Pyranha & TSC has it for $17.99 for 32 fl oz. It's ridiculous. I just googled & this is what came up --

Do you have an Atwoods near by? It's been on sale for $12.99!

We always made our own. in a 1 gallon bottle mix: 2 cups apple cider vinegar, 1 cup Blue Dawn
(blue works the best
) the fill the remainder with water. We also fed our horses a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar at every feeding. People always wanted to know why our horses weren't stomping. The vinegar sweats out and is a natural deterrent to mosquitos, ticks and flies.

I reuse a fly spray bottle thinking they are 32oz.
1 cup skin so soft
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon of citronella oil or eucalyptus oil.

Mine uses skin so soft, apple cider vinegar and equal parts
(10-15 drops
) citronella, eucalyptus and cedar wood oil. Too off with water.
Seems to be working thus far. I got the oil mixture idea off of a commercial mix that worked well in the past for me when I was out of skin so soft,.
