We switched feeds awhile back to Strategy and Healthy Edge for our 3 horses. My husbands mare and filly both get the Strategy and healthy Edge mixed, my mare only the Healthy Edge. Well his 2 seem to have started with this cough and I am wondering if the feed could be causing this. Mind it is not all the time, just hear when they are eating and when you first start to ride at a lope. My mare always has a cough when I first start to lope her, not bad though, but we also started them on DMG3000 and she is so much better and seems to feel so much better also. Just wondering could the Strategy be causing the cough in the other 2. Any one else had with this feed.

Are you feeding any hay? The feed could be moldy. Look it over closely to make sure it looks how it should.

Sounds like allergies. My gelding does the same thing. I started wetting his hay and have him on a breathing supplement. He seems to be a bit better.

My gelding does this as well, I just finished switching him from the Strategy Healthy Edge to the Strategy white bag.  He had a cough when I bought him, and he still does even after the switch (like you said, when going into a lope).  I mostly feed him soaked Alfalfa Timothy cubes, but he sometimes gets a flake of Alfalfa (when trailering to help with stomach acid or I didn't have time to soak the cubes).  He will be starting on a THE MM blend with plumon ez once it gets here... hope it helps!

Could be allergies. My mare was diagnosed this winter and is now on allergy shots. Good luck !

My mare coughs when worked in the spring. I put her on Cough Free (got it from Jeffers) & she stopped within a couple of weeks.
