So does that mean break hard and go to the front before he gets pinched off and then rate him down behind a few?

I'm only a bandwagon CC fan and don't really follow these races, so what is a good draw vs a bad draw? I'm assuming is depends on the horse's past performances, or no?

I will go with California Chrome, Ride on Curlin, Wicked Strong, and Matuszak, in that order.  Total shot in the dark here.  :

I am recording the Belmont.  I actually cannot watch until after I know the outcome.  Too stressful!  If he wins...I watch...if not...I delete and feel very very sad.

Lightfoot - 2014-06-04 12:44 PM So does that mean break hard and go to the front before he gets pinched off and then rate him down behind a few?

Belmont has a very long stretch run on the front side.  I don't think I would want him to forwardly placed going 1-1/2 miles, but then I don't train him.  His trainers will know what to do with him.  Of course you don't want him pinched off at the break or worse being closed in with nowhere to go either.  They are going to be after him and if that means the other jocks box him in, then it's gonna be up to his jock to get him out of it.

GO CC!

Fun fact. Chrome has drawn the same post numbers as Secretariat in all 3 of the triple crown races. 5, 3, now 2.

Here are the stats on post position in the Belmont:

Belmont Stakes Winners By Post position
Post Winners
1 23
2 11
3 13
4 9
5 13
6 7
7 11
8 5
9 3
10 2
11 2

I honestly don't know why Curly's odds dropped so much with his post. Can anyone help me figure that out?

I think it's the other way around drew 2 but started in 1? He ran with the number 2 on his blanket. You are right he didn't have anyone inside of him either way.
