| I'm kinda running out of time. Would anyone have any ideas on what I could put down on the floor easily this weekend? Maybe from a hardware store or something. I don't think I could find the light interlocking horse mats this short notice. I would need to have them ordered. I have mats but they are heavy as lead! Would bedding him down a lot do? He will be there from friday evening to sunday late afternoon.

Location: IL | I bought soft rides, but I also bed in down a lot in case he wants to lay down. You could buy those cheap interlocking mats, but normally they fall apart. You can also buy this bedding that if you add water is puffs up and gives better cushion. I haven't used it but a friend did and it was cool. |

Location: Missouri | Bed him down and maybe a set of soft rides. As for the interlocking mats if you have a Harbor Freight around you they usually have them in stock. |

Location: Colorado plains standing on a goat head! | You can get small squares from Wally World or similar that would be lighter and interlock. They are colorful, about 18" to 24" and they should work for weekends on cement. We bought 8 or 10 2' by 4' lightweight mats for the sma e purpose, I don't remember the brand. I think I just did a web search for light weight stall mats. |

| Thanks for the ideas. I know I can't get soft rides in time:( I'm in Canada too so our stores have like half the stuff your places carry :( No fun at all. The place only allows shavings as bedding so I don't think pea moss would be acceptable:( Im looking at those interlocking floor things for gyms right now. Hopefully I can get my act together and get some soft rides for the next time. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | At the Lincoln BRF they didn't allow peat moss so I bought 5 bags of shavings for each stall and at $10 a pop and 3 horses it cost me plenty. I felt it was worth it though along with wearing their soft rides. I'm kind of a freak though and go overboard. |

Location: North MS | I ended up at a show with concrete in the stalls ( I didn't know it beforehand). So I went to the local walmart and picked up a cushy garden kneeling pad, duct tape (gorilla tape to be exact) and diapers. I put down 4 bags of shavings and traced his feet out on the garden pad, cut to size and then I wrapped his foot in the diaper. I taped the pad to the diaper. To get his out of it the next day I cut a slit in the back of the diaper and tape and simply pulled it off. His feet did compress the pad and left an indention of the shape, but it was still pretty cushy. You could double layer if need be. I was able to re-use them for 2 more days and just added a diaper around the fetlock area. BTW- get larger than 3 month diapers. I had no idea which to get when I went shopping. |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | You can get Blue Board it's made from a tough foam from a hardware store. It's cheap and you can leave it there when the shows over. Some friends was using black board it's thicker foam but I never tired it. |

Location: Where I am happiest | You can get the interlocking mat squares at Wal-Mart. They are playground squares. I have also seen people use old carpet. |

Location: Mi | I've used old carpet before, back before soft rides and the light weight interlocking mats. Usually you can go to a carpet store and they will even have some old laying around. I put that down, then my shavings and at the end of the show left the carpet. |

Location: London Ontario | Try getting the kids puzzle piece matts that you would put down in a playroom. They are usually pretty cheap and can get them almost anywhere. Just ducktape the seams and then bed down, good luck! |

I used this the last time I stalled on concrete. I used the blue flat insulation board. I picked it up at Lowes. Worked awesome. Put it down, then put lots of shavings on top. It held up great. |

| Black fiberboard. You can get it at Menards for about $10 for an 4 x 8 sheet. Put your shavings over that and the fiberboard actually helps to keep the shavings in place. I also leave this when the show is done. Wouldn't be without on concrete. |
