| Hey Everyone!! So I have had a wide variety of trainers and jockeys on my show Between the Barrels, but I want to know who are some of your favorite barrel racing trainers and jockeys. People that you would want to hear talk about how they got started in the business and share their way of training. So PLEASE tell me who you would want to hear from and a little bit about why you think they are the best!!

Location: Got Lobsta? | Marne Loosenort!! She always seems to have winners in her barn! She has been successful on any type of horse - ex.bloodlines. Love to know how she keeps them so quiet and able to go on way beyone their futurity and derby years. |

Location: NE Texas | There are alot of trainers out there who can get a horse working for them, and them alone. What truly makes a great trainer IMO is someone who can train for themselves and then is also easy to ride behind. Some of the people mentioned in earlier posts don't train for the public, so their product speaks for itself. If I had to name a few who I thought were training horses that are performing beyond their futurity years for their owners or people who purchase them, I would have to say that Ryan Lovendahl, Latricia Duke and Dena Kirkpatrick would be at the top of the list. Bo Hill would be up there too. I think Kassie Mowry is a heck of a hand and gets a horse working really nice, but I can't think of a horse that has gone on to do really well beyond her off the top of my head.
I just think there is alot more that goes into being an amazing trainer than judging where they horses where the horses currently in their trailer are stopping the clock or by their yearly earnings. The best trainers to me are those that are making horses that also win for their owners or those that purchase them from the trainer.

Location: oklahoma | Carol Goostree, she never trained for the public. She has had several horses she trained go to the NFR. I think she is one of the best horseman I know. |

Location: Desert Land | One that hasn't been mentioned yet...Jolene Montgomery. She is such a great hand and has trained so many that have gone on to win futurities, derbys, 1D, rodeo and even go on to the NFR.
She currently has a good friend of mine's 3 year old stallion as a futurity hopeful and she is doing so well with him...can't wait for December!!! |

I would love this- she is a very good story teller on top of her great horses. There are SOOO many trainers who win on her horses and list them as horses they had trained. Lets just say- 99% of the time if they have Bo's brand- she started them. And I dont know that for fact obviously but I know sereral World Champions and many Brazilian exports that she in fact started. She makes the trainers famous, IMO.
Liana is great- I totally agree, a lot of family history that is interesting and lots of people win behind her. She is also trainer to the "trainers" of many great horses.
I agree about Kassie pretty much except for those that she trained in her stint at Judds- there might have been some of them that went on with other riders? And cant forget Epic Leader- Latricia rides him and seems to have done well behind KM. Not sure how great she would be to interview- seems pretty quiet?
What about Vauna Walker??
Or Pete Oen, he has certainly been involved with many great horses over the years? |

Location: North MS | Topics I would like to hear more about- In barrel horse news most recent issue Dena Kirkpatrick had a article on a "Lena". The style in which she discussed the trials, tribulations and success of that horse was well written. Something like that discussing particular horses and detailing their quirks and traits would be helpful. As an example- in the beginning the horse would always approach the second barrel but only focused on looking back toward the gate, out in the crowd or whatever and we worked on the following exercises (on pattern or off pattern) and after xx days we ran and a lot of improvement was noticed. More details like- he had issues with not drinking at events, did better when hauled in to an event and ran but not stalled. Just details into the horses training that are not large things, but could help other non-pros solve an issue.
Signs your horse might be getting ready to blow..... Waking up the horse that seems to have no run.... Increasing responsiveness to certain cues on the pattern Stories about small failures and how they were overcome.

| AWESOME I love all of your ideas yall are GREAT!!! I have already talked to a few of the ones some of you mentioned like Latricia, Jolene, Martha, Kenna, Sabra, and I did an interview with WPRA president Carolynn Vietor who is friends with Wanda Bush so she told me some stories that Wanda wanted to share. Keep the thoughts coming I really like seeing who everyone considers the best...I know I have my opinions but its always fun to see what everyone else thinks too!!
