Oops. Have a mare whose hip muscle has atrophied since she foaled. Started using my photonics light on it, stretching her and massaging the area. Any other "at home" ideas I can do? Have already talked to vet about electro stimulation if this doesn't help.

I would look at her diet, increase her fat and calorie content.

You need to increase blood flow to that area. I would try a BOT sheet.  I don't know about the photonic light, but I do know a laser helps as well as massage.

Massage is the best. You can also try Back on Track blanket. It helps increase blood flow.

Yes this exactly. I had an OTTB who had an atrophied hip. I always had trouble keeping weight on him & put him on a high fat low starch diet that was really palatable. Within 3 months he was normal again, so I attributed it to his change in diet.

Please, elaborate on this?  You feed absorbine like the linament?  What does it do?
