Location: Sperry, OK | Okay prayer warriors we need you more now than last night! My unspoken prayer request is in critical condition. He somehow ended up with Clostridial infection from one of the vaccines (very rare to happen with vaccines... but we all know it's common when giving banamine IM). They are not sure where the contamination came from, but just the same it's there. Last night they did the surgery on his neck (cut into ribbons) to open up the abscess to get the infection and dead tissue out. Through the night he began having seizures, the vets think the infection crossed over into his spinal fluid. They are wanting to give him every chance and are doing everything they can to get him through this. Please say a prayer for him and his recovery (and his people too)! |

Prayers to your friends horse.
Just to clarify the incidence of clotstrial infection is 1:1000 doses give IM, not really common. |

No disrepect intended @ Cheyrl Mofka but when it comes to the treatment described 1in 1000 is too many. It is extremely painful for the horses and the owners who have to watch. Just heartwrenching. |
