how old are they typically when you take them to market? And it is true that they don't usually thrive well in high country-cold climate? They're general purpose these days are for sport?
I'm about to wrap up edits on Josey's Mountain
(yay!
) and I'm trying to make this as authentic as possible.
Thanks in advance.

Fly, corrientes do really well in extreme climates. It's one of the things that they have historically been liked by ranchers.
They are usually ready to be roped on at about one year of age. They usually are roped for about two years. Any time after that they can be feed out and sold to slaughter.

We like them to rope because of their size, sometimes we can rope them for up to 4 years as long as they don't sour in that amount of time.

If a herd wasn't used for roping, would be wrong for someone needing money to sell them to market as yearlings?

Nope, that would be a good time to sell them. If I were to raise them, that's when I would sell them.

Thank you. Looks like I only need to make one small adjustment to the M.S. then. Whew.
