OT- Dutch oven recipes
Living within my means

We're headed to yellowstone in a few weeks and I'm needing some Dutch oven ideas.
I'd like to make a pineapple upside down cake, anyone got a good recipe?
Or a really good main dish recipe.
I'll need to feed at least 12 people so it'll need to make a lot!
Thanks!!

We do Pizza's with Rhodes dough, they are pretty tasty in a DO.
This is one of my families favorite cobbler recipes.
Dad's Cobbler
Filling:
2 qt Canned peach slices
3/4 c Sugar
1/4 c Water
3 t Corn starch
Topping:
2 c Flour
3 T Sugar
4 t Baking powder
6 T Lard or butter
3/4 c Canned milk cut half strength with water
(just enough to moisten dough
)
Filling
Dissolve corn starch in water; add mixture to peaches and juice in a large, warm Dutch oven; stir well; sprinkle sugar on top; cover and allow to simmer lightly while topping is prepared.
Topping:
On a floured board, turn out a soft dough; pat down to 1/2" thick; cut into strips 1/2" wide and place criss-cross atop peach mixture; cover and cook approximately 20 minutes until golden brown.

For the Pineapple Upsidedown Cake in a Dutch Oven:
2 Cans Cherry
1 Can Crushed Pineapple
1 stick butter
1 box yellow cake mix
Put the cans of cherry in the bottom then add the pineapple.
Mix the butter in with the yellow cake mix
(until it is crumbly
) then spread on top.
Be sure to put coals on top of your dutch oven also and bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
The crumble should brown and the fruit should start to bubble up through the topping.
Really simple and really good. Even better with ice cream :
)
This is also really easy to make using Blueberry pie filling, Apple or Peaches. I usually just omit the crushed pineapple in those, but you can leave it in if you want. If you want you can also use a can of Sprite or 7UP to add more moisture for the crumble topping. You can easily play around with the topping to make it a little different, like add crush heath candy to the apple one, or some caramel chips.
Have fun on your trip.
