I like Pyranha. I feel it stays effective for multiple days and really keeps the flies off.

I haven't found any that work once the horse starts to sweat... So if any one has one that does that would be great.

Or has anyone tried the Equi-Spot? Does it work?

None of them work for up to 7 days like so many claim on the bottle. But - what I have found is if you use an oil based spray they don't evaporate off as quickly in the warmer weather. I am a fan of the Equi-Care bands and like the Citronella and Super-7 sprays. I spray them on daily and for the most part they work for a day and I am fine with that.

Pyhranna works best but be careful. My horse gets welts from it and I can only use it sparingly on his legs.

Blisted one of my horses back legs... so now I just used it lightly on her and then take a brush and brush it.
the others I can spray and they are fine...
Love this stuff... but I'm starting to notice the fly's are getting used to it... dang it...
when I first used it they were GONE....

That's what I use too. I buy it by the case from Valley Vet during their sale.

Use caution with oil based fly sprays. Some horse react, it burns their skin. If this happens, use water and keep rinsing horse.

I've never had an issue with oil based fly spray on any of my horses ever. I don't coat them in it though - just lightly spray it all over their body. But you can darn sure bet if my horse had a reaction I'd switch in a heartbeat.

I just got a bottle of Sta-Sound's Fly-B-Gone spray and so far it is better than anything else I've tried. A couple years ago I quit buying fly spray because none of it worked and I'd just treat them with Equispot a few times a year and then put fly wraps on if the flies got terrible. This year the horses are just giving themselves fly-repellant mud baths with all the rain we've had so I haven't gotten fly wraps out yet.

I just got back from the feed store and bought some Pyranha. It's what my farrier uses when he comes out here. I also bought a refill jug of my back up Bronco simply because it is inexpensive. I am shocked at the cost of fly spray. I add in Avon's Skin so Soft to the Bronco and it seems to keep it on a bit better and it keeps their skin so soft. LoL

I had always heard good things about Pyrana but I had two horses react very badly to it. I like Final Fly-T. It seems to work pretty well for me. I get it at our local Runnings.

Both of my horses have awful allergic reactions to Pyrahna so I stay as far away from it as I can.

I can't remember what the spray I'm currently using is called..it's in a black bottle; it works okay but not great.
I also use the SWAT cream, it comes in a little tub. I think they make clear kind but the stuff I have is pink. I have a palomino which makes the pink look a little obnoxious but I like it because I can see exactly where I've put it. The bugs and flies get her SOO badly and this stuff seriously works. I'm shocked when I go out the next day and she isn't all eaten up, that doesn't happen with fly spray.

Yep! Love the stuff! I just wish it wasn't so darn expensive but it is the best I have ever used at keeping the flies and mosquitoes away but also smells so good. :
