 Dancing in my Mind

Location: Eastern OH but my heart is in WV | Last week at a show, a photographer captured this image of my daughter and it is my new all time favorite picture. I just love watching these two develop into a team. He was suppose to be my "come back" horse but my daughter fell in love with him. He is a lot of horse however he is teaching her a lot .....and mean while mom is stuck riding her old pony. I wouldn't trade it for anything though.

Thanks Herbie. It has been a long road. In the beginning there was a lot of soundness and ring/gate issues we had to work through, not to mention I had lost my nerve. To say the least I was devastated. Then one day, out of the blue, she asked to ride him and they have never looked back. |

Trying to sell the pony so I have money towards another.... Her and a good friend (that also took over her mom's horse) made shirts that say "I stole my mom's horse."" They wear them to the show together. To be young again |

Don't feel bad about riding a pony........out of 15 horses, my ride this year is a 13H Welsh that we bred/raised. I was a little embarrassed at first, but hey, somebody has to train these ponies. I'm the only senior rider on a pony, so I'm "special". |

Location: Eastern OH but my heart is in WV | Thanks everyone for the kind comments. She is 13 and this is her second summer running him. After the horse and I had a rough start, I would have never of imagined my daughter would be riding him. Heck, I even offered him to another family...so glad now they said "No." He can be a lot of horse but we have been so blessed to have two teenage sister REALLY step up and help my daughter with her confidence and riding skills. |
