So my husbands friend is staying for a week while he is in waiting for his new job to start. It has been wonderful because he is fun to be around and it is nice to catch up. So.. here is when the non-fun starts he has been talking to this chick and invites her down again it no problem. I was actually excited to meet her until the first day we waited around her and she didn't show up said she got held up at a rodeo. Ok we know how that goes. So she said she was going to show up last night at 7:30... shows up at 11pm! Now my husband nor I have ever met her and she barely knows my husbands friend they have mostly been talking casually but have never actually dated.

Now part of me wants to literally go off on her and be like really how awful is that to show up at someone you are first meeting 4 hours late at have it be at the hour of 11pm.

So my little vent is over and bottom line i don't think i am going to like her lol.

If someone I didn't know showed up at my house at 11:00 at night, I would not be a happy camper! That is really rude. I would be soo embarrassed if I was staying at someone's house and someone I invited showed up that late, too.

While I agree that it is rude to show up that late for a first meeting, I'd be sure and talk to the friend first... she could have been saying "no, it's too late.." and he could have been saying "no, it's perfectly fine" and been encouraging her to come on over so late.

Well I am sure he was telling her it was OK because she was coming from like 3 hours away and was suppose to be there at 7:30 so I am sure he didn't want to be like Oh its too late at like 10 when she had already drove a couple hours.

In that case, I'd probably have a talk with him instead of the new girl... but I still think she probably should have known better if she was already running atleast an hour late... but we know how persistent men can be!

Well he is 25 so yea we are all pretty young but yes they barely know each other. I called my husband and he was like umm she is still here... and I dont know what to do lol. But yea they literally talked for one night after a rodeo so apparently that warrants an overnight stay....

I didn't realize how young you are. At that age 11 wasn't that late to us either. May be like someone posted above just have a little talk with him about it. Give her a chance, she might turn out to be fun. It is awkward that she was still there when ya'll got up to go to work though.

Just throwing it out there, maybe *nothing* happen over night. When I first meet my now husband he came back to my collage doorman room and spent the night ... I know right! But we just sat up and talked all night. I know what everybody assumed lmao but it never happned ... and didn't happen for quite some time ;-)

I would not be too happy with a stranger staying in my house overnight without me knowing about it.

If she drove three hours and got there at 11 for whatever reason I would expect her to stay and not drive home late and tired.

Give her a chance.   Being mad is overrated.

I'd talk to the friend about it. I find it disrespectful to you and your family. He's only at your house for one week. That's really not the place to bring a "date" to and definitely not a sleep over. Dude should have waited a week and done this at his house.....or rent a hotel room.

You are so right, they should have gone and got a hotel, even if they stayed up all night talking. They could have asked if it was all right with you if she stayed the night.

Why do you have to do anything?  He's the one deciding if he wants to see her again or not.

^^ This.  If you're going to 'have a talking to' with anyone.... It should most likely be husband's buddy.

I'm 24 and married and I would want a little more respect than what this guy is giving you and your husband even at my young age. I understand that he is only living with you for a week until he starts his new job, but who is this girl? If she is still there when you left what all does she have access to in your house while you are gone? What if she took something valuable from your home without this guy she met knowing? I guess I'm just over reactive but I don't trust anyone this day in time, and definalty wouldn't approve of his "booty call" at my house. I would be glad when his week was up and he was outta here!
