| There is a Appy foal I purchased that has great bloodlines. Planning for my daughter to take it up threw 4H and be her future barrel prospect. Its the only spots in the field of 5 Qtr horses. Never ever dreamed I would have a Appys but she basically is a 3/4 qtr horse. Anyway I think she's going to have a heart for whoever owns her. So would you have overlooked her just because she has spots....around where I live not many like the Appys and don't see alot running the cans. Just wondering....spots or not....LOL!! |

Location: NC | I would love a bay appy with a blanket!!! as long as the breeding looked good for barrels, and conformation was right I would snap one up in a heartbeat. Though I will say even though color doesnt matter with how a horse rides I do over look horses with a lot of white... I just don't like a horse with a lot of white, or most light colored horses... |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Maybe I'm biased...but I too never thought much about Appys...the ones I had seen working at the clinic...well in that area most were apple butts and onery. But like with anything else...there is a lot of variety and you have to take them as individuals. I took Jackpot on as a project for a friend to fit him up for sale. He never left. I fell in love and bought him myself. He's a big fella...but he's done it all for me. (Barrels, poles, drill team, CTR, parades...you name it...and he was a successful header back in the day). he is 25 now...and still the best ride in the pasture. Solid and honest.

Location: British Columbia | I love Appaloosas. I had one when I was younger and she was just the most reliable, fierce little mare I've ever owned. If I could find a CBHI SS Appy I would buy it. There just aren't enough breeders to get the kind of speed pedigree I would want with the spots, out here. |

Location: North Dakota | I owned a little gelding 20 years ago. he was under 14 hands but he could run with the big horses. I loved that horse, he never refused to do anything I asked of him. I got into a money crunch in college and was forced to sell him but he was one of the best I ever owned. I think appys make great all around horses and they don't have the soundness issues that other breeds have. |

Location: Wherever the Army sends my husband | If I planned on keeping it for myself I'd absolutely look. I'm a huge fan of Gay Bars Silver and almost bred a mare of mine to him years back. I know they aren't super popular so I would avoid one if I planned on reselling later down the road. |

| I got one not too long ago, she's is my head horse prospect. She is very minimaly handled and was for sale for a long time, I just kept getting drawn to her, something about her just spoke to me and I couldent find a quarter horse prospect that I liked in mybudget.
Im very pleased with my decision, and im sure she will go around the barrels more than once lol! |

If you don't want to get outrun at a rodeo or jackpot by an appy (or think they are not 1D/rodeo potential) then don't come to N.E. Oklahoma.. at any given moment you just might get your tail handed to you by a lady and her appy! |

Location: Greenville Texas | There are a LOT of Appy's running that dont have the traditional color...so you're running with alot of Appys and dont realize it. One of my very very best horses is an appy.People dont know it unless I tell them...or they look very close for small freckles. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I grew up on them. They have personalities for sure, very intelligent but I did find them a bit stubborn at times. But I'm sure all breeds have that. My first was Bumpers Little Dove (not sure if there is any way to pull her pedigree) stood about 14.3-15 hands. She was black with white sprinkles and no tail lol. Then I started riding my dad's mare Lil Whoop Honey when I was about 10. She was a big thick 15.2. She was honestly used for it all-team roping both ends, calf roping, breakaway, barrels, poles and all ghymkhana events (I won several buckles on her), jumping and packing elk. She is the dam of my good barrel horse that is now 21 and packing my kids around...and my dad's mule, but we all try to forget about that. Here she is about 2 yrs ago at 31 and she is now 33. I can't say I would buy another because the value seems to be so so low on them. A lot of Appy haters, but I loved mine and if I wanted a good horse around just to have for myself, I wouldn't over look one.
