 You get what you give

Location: Texas | This horse is just unreal. I didn't think I would ever be on a horse like this in my life...thought it was totally out of the cards for me, between horses getting hurt or sick over the years and then my career choice to go to vet school...I figured I would sit on the sidelines really and bring up my babies...
And to top it all off that I found this mare off Craigslist of all places.. I don't even have words. She's filled a void I have had for a long time. She's helped me through the recent heart break of the end of my 7 year relationship with my boyfriend (who I had no idea this was coming and was planning on marriage)... bleh. Anyway, she is just a miracle. She greets me every morning, puts her head into the halter when I catch her, gives more than any horse I have EVER been on when it comes to try and effort.
We won the race on Saturday by 4 tenths. Last jackpot in the same pen we won it with a 14.6. I've never won two races back to back. My best friend, who placed 2nd behind me, told me before I got on I would run a 14.4 in the pen... I told her she was crazy because to all of our knowledge, the fastest time on those stakes was a 14.5 with a hit barrel. We don't keep track of record times on the stakes since so many producers use these pens and we sometimes change how we stake.. so no way to tell if its an arena record or not. But who cares, it was the ride of my life!
