We are planning a trip to New Orleans of a long weekend. There will be 4 of us. We are wanting a hotel that is more of a suit so we can all be in the same room. Are there any hotels that have two queen beds but are in different rooms? Preferably close to Bourbon St or the French Quarter?

Also, what should we expect price wise on spending? Food.. drink.. I know parking is HIGH but we dont plan on moving the vehicle once we get there.

Where are some good places to eat? Sights? Bars? Clubs?

Thanks

Check out the Quarter house on Chartres street.. Right in the french quarter, not far from Harrahs, Bourbon st, the river walk and very nice rooms. They actually have suites with two separate kitchens etc.

The Bourbon House on Bourbon Street is one of my very favorite places to eat.

Also, If you plan on eating in the french quarter, the prices are a little higher but I have yet to come across anything BAD in NO!! Dickie Brennan's is my favorite, but that's for special occasions, lol. Antoines, Acme seafood house, Bubba Gump Shrimp co, The Gumbo pot, Jimmy Buffetts, OMG, I could go on forever. lol

OH! we really enjoyed the haunted history tour if you're into that sort of thing.

As I remember there is at least one Hotel in the quarter .... I think 1 or 2 blocks off The Street. and there is one on The Street.. They didn't look cheap.. I'd look for one up on Canal Street.. NOT Between The Street and the Stadium.. The amount you will spend on a cab fare and a room away from the quarter will total out much less than what you will pay for the price of the room in the quarter..

The westin on Iberville and canal street is great! Close walking distance to all of the attractions and bourbon street.. wonderful beds and rooftop pool is spectacular at night. We just got back from there a few weeks ago and it was a great vacation.

We stayed at Hotel Monteleone last year it is in the French Quarter, very nice and there is a Carousel Bar in the hotel lounge.  We took a couple of tours, one that shows you where Hurricane Katrina broke thru, the cemeteries, The Garden District and some of the historic areas and then we also took a tour of two Plantations, "The Laura Plantation" and "Oak Alley Plantation" both are awesome.  Allot of really great places to eat and just watch where you step on a Saturday night on Bourbon Street, and make sure to take a carrige ride too.

I had a blast there. We did the Oak Alley thing and the swamp tour with a really crazy dude for a guide . I would like to go back sometime and spend more time just exploring because we were limited in time. Hotel Monteleone was very nice!
